Richard Sikes, Saleta Parmer

Richard Sikes was born on 22 December 1804 in North Carolina and died on 3 July 1872 in Mississippi. He married Saleta Parmer.

Saleta Parmer was born in 1804 in Georgia and died in 1880 in Georgia.

They had five children:

Mary Ann Mahala Sikes was born on 11 March 1838 in Eufaula, Alabama and died on 11 February 1919 in Clarke County, Mississippi. She is buried in Elim Cemetery in Clarke County, Mississippi. She married Charles Stewart in 1858. She then married Newton McDonald Brown Schrimpshire on 14 March 1867 in Clarke County, Mississippi. She birthed nine children: Eliza J. Stewart, Sarah Ann Saleta Schrimpshire, Eudora Virginia Schrimpshire, Florence Isabella Schrimpshire, Logenia Hastine Schrimpshire, Columbus Alonza Schrimpshire, Mary Emily Schrimpshire, Margaret Elizabeth Schrimpshire, and Hettie Emoline Schrimpshire.

John R. Sykes was born 28 March 1841 in Barbour County, Alabama and died in 1880 in Quitman, Mississippi. He is buried in East Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Clarke County, Mississippi. He changed the spelling of his surname from Sikes to Sykes. He married Tabitha Murphy. He fathered four children: John, Thomas Richard, Beulah, and William B.

Martha C. Sikes was born in 1843 in Alabama and died on 1 June 1920 in Meridian, Mississippi. She married Mark Schrimpshire.

Hettie Emeline Sikes was born in May 1845 in Alabama and died in 1910 in Mississippi. She married William Benjamin Jordan Welch. She birthed five children: William Oscar, Martha S., Charles A., Benjamin James, and an infant son.

Nancy Jane Sikes was born on 27 December 1846 in Alabama and died on 11 December 1928 in Vossburg, Mississippi. She married Christopher Dudley Brashier on 19 September 1867 in Clarke County, Mississippi. She birthed four children: Charles Dudley, James E., Nancy Alice, and William Robert.
