Annie Laura Herring, 86, of Pachuta, MS, passed away on August 8, 2018, at her residence. She was born on November 23, 1931, to Joe and Sally (Linton) Melton in Clarke County, MS.
Laura is survived by her son, Terry (Marsha) Herring; two daughters, Paula (Travis) Boney and Wanda (Ken) Ervin; special long-time friend, Marie Hays; six grandchildren, Stephen Hopkins, Anita Marie Herring, Kisha Hopkins (Charlie) Mathis, Jamie Boney, Jody (Tonya) Boney, Sam (Lindsey) Ervin; five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Sally Melton; husband, Stafford Herring; son, Stafford Wayne Herring; two brothers and one sister.
Visitation was held Thursday, August 9, 2018, 5:30 pm at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, MS.
Funeral services were held on Friday, August 10, 2018, 10:30 am at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Castle officiating. Burial took place in the Pachuta Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ken Ervin, Sam Ervin, Travis Boney, Jody Boney, Stephen Hopkins, and James Skidmore. Honorary Pallbearers are Jamie Boney and Charlie Mathis.

Frances Christine Owen, 79, of Enterprise, MS, passed away on August 11, 2018, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
She was born on August 4, 1939, to James and Lela (Ulmer) Lewis in Jasper County, MS.
She was a member of Enterprise United Methodist Church and The International Singing Breakman Association (TISBA). She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking and taking care of people in her community.
Frances is survived by her sons, Kenneth R. (Sue) Owen and Joseph T. (Vickie) Owen; daughter-in-law, Dian Owen; brother, Preston Lavern Lewis; sister, Sue (J.B.) Morris; grandchildren, Jonathan (Kara) Owen, Elliot (Natalie) Owen, Telea (Richard) Cobb, Lexie Kelley, Jake McCraney and Alex McCraney and great-grandchildren, Joseph Owen, Mollie Owen, Brandon Owen, Paxton Owen, and Brantley Owen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray H. Owen; son, Mark Owen, grandson, Lance Owen and her parents, James and Lela Lewis.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2018, 10:00-11:30 am at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, MS.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, 11:30 am at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. John Wesley Leek officiating. Burial will take place in the Enterprise Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Elliot Owen, Justin Morris, Jeffrey Morris, Michael Hamrick, Carey Hamrick, and Philip Speed.

Essie Roberts Patrick, 102, of Franklin, TN, formerly of Melvin, AL, Ripley, MS, and Bowling Green, KY, passed away on August 10, 2018.
She was born on November 27, 1915, to Daniel and Susie (Tims) Roberts in Clarke County, MS.
Essie is survived by her daughter, Paula Patrick Knight; son-in-law, Bryan R. Knight; granddaughters, Bryana Knight and Rebekah Knight Michel; grand son-in-law, Greg Michel; two great-granddaughters, Savannah and Chloe Michel; brother-in-law, Jack Rolison; sister-in-law, Marie Rolison Fleming; and numerous nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Leonard Patrick; parents, Daniel and Susie Roberts; sister, Pearl Pinson, Irene Donald and Lessie Baker; and brother, Clyde Roberts.
Essie has a passion and love for work and meeting people. In addition to being a Red Cross Home Health Nurse, she managed a general store and was a nursery attendant at First Baptist Church, Ripley, MS for six years. Upon "retirement", Essie went on to become a volunteer at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY for 17 years. She received the "First Humanitarian" award from the CEO. In more recent years, she enjoyed spending time with her great-granddaughters.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, 1:00 pm at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery with Rev. Bryan R. Knight officiating.
Pallbearers were Greg Michel, Rusty Rolison, Brad Rolison, Jack Rolison, Jr., Greg Rolison, and Gaylon Rolison.
