Mrs. Day, age 89, of Quitman, passed away on February 16, 1993, at Archusa Convalescent Center.
Survivors include one son, Marvin Herring, Stonewall; two brothers, Sang Sanders and Willie "Bud" Sanders, both of Enterprise; one sister, Margaret Sanders; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Pettis, age 89, of Shubuta, passed away on February 15, 1993, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Joyce Pettis, Shubuta; four daughters, Mary Ellen Commiskey, Newton; Chandra Naylor, Decatur, AL; Suzette Tew, Meridian; and Sylvia Sykes, Quitman; two brothers, Ellis Pettis and Sam Pettis, both of Shubuta; two sisters, Bessie Pugh, Waynesboro; and Ollie Mable Williams, Bucatunna; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hemmingway, age 69, of Stonewall, passed away on February 18, 1993, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was lifetime resident of Stonewall, self-employed, and a member of the Stonewall Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Wayne Hemmingway, Gulfport; one sister, Mrs. Ray (Cheryl) Gibson, Butler, AL; four grandchildren and one great-grandson; a long-time loving companion, Mary B. Long, Enterprise and her daughter, Johnnie S. Powell, Mobile, AL; one brother, Howard Hemmingway, Lawton, OK; one sister, Mary Helen Smith, Stonewall, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the scholarship fund for nurses at Citizens National Bank in Stonewall.

Mr. Hayes, age 87, of Rt. 4 Quitman, passed away on February 18, 1993, at McNeil Nursing Home in Enterprise. He was a member of East Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, a former deacon and longtime member of Mont Rose Baptist Church, member of Terral Lodge F & AM 514 and a member of the Clarke County Brotherhood.
Survivors include one son, Alman (Sonny) Hayes, Jr, Quitman; four daughters, Earline Foster, Rye, TX; Ruby Ingram, Matthews, VA; Christine Fairley and Carolyn Kennedy, both of Quitmn; one brother, Franklin Hayes, Meridian; five sisters, Lena Manasco, Marie Lucas, Ruby Long, and Selma Schrimpshire, all of Quitman; Ottis Jackson, Meridian; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
