Drew Lavon Wade, 81, of Quitman, passed away on December 2, 2014 at Rush Hospital.
He was born on December 4, 1932 to Drew and Edell (Mosley) Wade in Clarke County, MS. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Quitman where he served as Head Usher, Member of Board of Trustee's and on Pastor Parrish Committee. He was a retired member of Quitman Volunteer Fire Department and a former Alderman for the city of Quitman.
Lavon is survived by his daughters, Kay (Robert) Weems and Cindy (Mike) Weathers; brother, Frank (Cookie) Wade; sisters, Emma Jean Loper, Hazel Shirley, and Alda (Dan) Richardson; grandchildren, Wade (Shannon) Weathers, Adam Weathers, and Aubrey Weems.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Evans Wade; parents, Drew and Edell Wade; and brother, Raymond Wade.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 4, 2014, 5:00 pm at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014, 10:00 am at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mitchell McDonald, Rev. Mark Covington, and Rev. Grady Crowell officiating. Burial will take place in the Salem Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wade Weathers, Adam Weathers, Kenny Wade, Nick Kramer, Franklin Slay, and Dennis Rolison.

Funeral services for Grady E. Boykin, 89, of Natchez, were held Monday, December 8, 2014, at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Len McRainey officiating. Burial followed in the Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Boykin died Thursday, December 4, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Boykin was born July 14, 1925, in Quitman, MS, the son of Thomas Lee Boykin and Ruby Vivian Fleming Boykin. He was President of the Men's Club and a trustee at Lovely Lane United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Adams County Airport Commission. He was a veteran of World War II serving from 1943-1946 in the 101st Airborne. He was involved in the European Theater serving in France, Belgium, Bastone, Holland and Germany.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Michael Thomas Boykin.
Survivors include his wife, Sally Boykin of Natchez; one son, Grady E. Boykin, Jr., of Vidalia; one granddaughter, Lacey Boykin Jester and her husband, Eddie, of Vidalia; step daughters, Roni Gaudet and husband, Lucien of Lake St. Johnson, La; Renee Wisneer and husband, Edward, Johna Verucchi, Verna Russ and husband, Kevin, all of Natchez and Maria Todd and husband, Rusty, of Houma, La; great-granddaughter, Grace Michael Jester; two step grandchildren, Kaylie Jester and Keagan Brown; two sisters, Dorothy Sellers and Juanita Glass, both of Quitman; one brother, Thomas C. Boykin of Quitman and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers were Jeffery Glass, Bill Glass, Steve Glass, George Sellers, Jr., Richard Roads and Dale Henderson. Honorary pallbearers were Claude Harrigill, Jim Cotten and Buddy Roads.
Brenda Eve Bell Pennington

Brenda Eve Bell Pennington, 71, passed on to be with our Lord on December 5, 2014 at Meridian Community Living Center in Meridian, MS.
Brenda was born at the Mercy Hospital in Vicksburg, MS. She attended grade school in Brooksville, MS, and graduated with honors from Noxubee County High School (formerly Macon High School) in Macon, MS. Brenda graduated from the "W", Columbus, MS with a major in Biology and a minor in English. She later received her degree in Medical Technology from the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, MS. Brenda worked for several years in Cancer Research in Birmingham, AL and later as a Medical Technologist in pathology at Anderson's Regional Hospital in Meridian, MS.
Brenda loved music and was a wiz at remembering Pop tunes, the artists and most of the lyrics. As an accomplished pianist, she also enjoyed the Classics and enjoyed singing in the church choir for many years.
Much like our late Grandmother Frances DeCell Lee, she never met a stranger. She had such a tender heart for all animals with cats being her favorite of course which stemmed from her being raised on the Bell Farm in Brooksville, MS. Gourmet cooking, painting and baking cookies for her neighbors were her favorite pastimes after retirement.
Brenda is survived by her father, William B. Bell and wife, Shirley Kelly Bell; sister, Seleita Bell Williams of Pearl, MS; brother, John Brandon Bell (Debbie) of Roanoke, VA; and brother Clayton Bridges Bell of Birmingham, AL; Niece Tracey Sharp of McComb, MS; Leah Head (Joey) of Brandon, MS and nephew, Andrew Williams of Brandon, MS; Niece, Sarah Bell and nephew Parker Bell of Roanoke VA. She also leaves behind several grand and great nieces and nephews whom she adored! She is preceded in death by our beloved mother, Eva DeCell Bell. She will be missed by many.
Visitation will be held on Sunday December 14, 2014 at Wrights Funeral home in Quitman, MS from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Monday December 15, 2014 - 11:00 a.m. at the Brooksville Cemetery in Brooksville, MS with the Kathy Bracketts presiding.

Amanda Graham Carmichael, 70, of Quitman, MS, passed away on December 7, 2014, at her residence.
She was born on July 12, 1944, to Glynn and Retha Graham in Quitman. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and a long-time employee of Clarke County Co-Op.
Amanda is survived by her husband, Mike Carmichael; daughters, Gerry (Cliff) Long of Olive Branch, MS and Miranda (Rick) Harvey of Grove Hill, AL; brother, Carl (Gloria) Graham of Quitman, MS; sister, Glenda (D.B.) Hardee of Quitman; grandchildren, Caroline Harvey, Lindsay Long, Matthew Harvey, James Long, and Abby Long.
She was preceded in death by her parents Glynn and Retha Graham.
Visitation was held Tuesday, December 9, 2014, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Pine Grove Baptist Church, Quitman.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, 2:00 pm at the Pine Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Dennis Kennedy officiating. Burial will take place in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
