Eugenia Harriss Harlan Overbeck, 92 of Wilmington, NC died November 10, 2008, at Cornelia Nixon Davis Healthcare Center.
Mrs. Overbeck was born on February 3, 1916, in Wilmington, the daughter of Howard Harlan and Eugenia Harriss Harlan. She lived most of her life in Fayetteville, NC with her husband of 66 years, Charles Edward Overbeck, Sr. who predeceased her.
Surviving are three children, Gene Overbeck Britt, Dorothy Overbeck Guggenheimer and husband Max, Charles Edward Overbeck, Jr. and wife Debra; eight grandchildren, Charles Leslie Britt III, Dr. Eugenia Quackenbush and husband Michael, Charles Edward Britt and wife Rosemary, Dorothy Guggenheimer Bridger and husband Dickson, Max Guggenheimer III and wife Jessica, John Capron Guggenheimer and wife Maggie, Charles Overbeck III and Sondra (Sissy) Overbeck; and five great-grandchildren, Jessica Marie Britt, Dickson Butler Bridger, Jr., Michael Ward Bridger, John Capron Guggenheimer, Jr. and June Margaret Guggenheimer. She is also survived by a beloved sister Mary Harlan Batten; two nieces and a nephew.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 13 at 2:00 PM at Lafayette Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville, NC, with The Rev. Dr. Randal L. Bremer officiating.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Cornelia Nixon Davis Healthcare Center for their loving care and acts of kindness.
