(First part of obituary is illegible) ... would have reached his 74th year had he lived a few days longer. Although, having enjoyed throughout these years a lucrative practice, this venerable physician died practically a poor man.

Dr. McNair was married to Mrs. Mary Lott about 35 years ago in Meridian. There were no children born to this union.
He is survived by his wife and one step son, Mr. M. E. Lott, manager of Quitman Mercantile Drug Department of this city.
The funeral was conducted form the Baptist church at 9:30 o'clock, Tuesday morning, the Rev. C. M. Morris, pastor, officiating. At the grave the beautiful and impressive ceremony of the Masonic order was carried out. The grave was banked with many beautiful floral offerings as the last token of love and esteem of his many friends.
Dr. McNair was a life long member of the Baptist church, a noble friend, a true and devout christian.
In honor of this good man every business house in Quitman closed it's doors and with bowed heads the friends looked for the last time upon the silent form of the man and physician whom all loved so much.
Just a few days ago in the diagnosis of his own case, and knowing that the chances were 9 to 1 against him he stated he would prefer having the operation to the continual suffering that he knew would be his portion.
Thus it was, and in his weakened condition, he was unable to withstand the strain, an dhis soul took its flight.
Peace to his ashes.
