NEWPORT NEWS - Cecil Dowd McCaskill Jr., 74, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011.
Cecil was a lifelong resident of the Peninsula and was an Army veteran of Vietnam. He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding as a foreman of Crain Operations. He was a member of the Pines Golf Course. Cecil was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Jean McCaskill. He is survived by two sons, Dennis and Mitchell McCaskill, both of Newport News; and three daughters, Karen M. Cunningham of Newport News, Tracy R. Murphy and her husband, Allen of Gloucester, and Casey Wells McCaskill of Newport News. He is also survived by a brother, Robert E. McCaskill of Newport News; a sister, Judy Ann Aumond of Hampton; and two grandchildren, Alden J. Cunningham of Newport News and Miranda E. Murphy of Gloucester.
