A sad accident, attended with fatal result, occured this morning to the son of Mr. M. A. Philllips, Forty-seventh avenue, West End.
The boy, whose name is Willard, and who is about fourteen years of age, went hunting this morning with a party of his friends, and when below the section house at West End, essayed to climb a fence with a loaded gun in his hands.
While scaling the fence, the top rail turned with the weight of his body, and the unfortunate youth was thrown down, the gun going off simultaneously.
The lad received the full load of shot in his breast, and expired in a very short time. --Meridian
