QUITMAN - Services for Martha Lee Cook Overby will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Henry officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Wright's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Overby, 78, of Lucedale, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula.
   She was born on Jan. 11, 1932, in Vossburg, Miss. Her parents were Lee Andrew Cook and Rebecca McCormick Cook. Martha graduated from Heidelberg High School and St. Joseph Catholic Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital, Meridian, Jackson County Hospital (Singing River Hospital), Ingalls Shipbuilding, and retired from the Jackson County Health Department in Pascagoula in 1990. Martha lived in Jackson County for 31 years and had resided in George County since 1991. She was an active member of Southside Baptist Church.
   Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann Guin and husband, Steve, of Lucedale; three grandchildren, James E. Guin and wife, Soon, of Rosewell, Ga., Stephen T. Guin and Georgia Childree and husband, Josh, of Lucedale; five great-grandchildren, Jed and June Guin of Rosewell, Ga., and Randi Guin, Katelyn Stewart and Madysen Childree, of Lucedale; three brothers, Preston Cook and wife, Barbara, Herschel Cook and wife, Frances, of Shubuta, and Milton Cook of Vossburg; sister, Hilda Morris and husband, Lonnie, of Vancleave; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
   She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Raymond Lee Overby; son, Jimmy Ray Overby; and parents, Lee and Rebecca Cook.
Pallbearers will be Stephen T. Guin, Joey Robins, Archie Morris, Andy Cook, Jamie Cook and Michael Cook.
   Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8.p.m,. at the funeral home in Quitman.
