Services for Ella Mae Irby, age 97, were held May 20, 1991, at Webb's Funeral in Meridian with burial in the New Bethel Baptist church cemetery in Clarke County, where she was a member since childhood. Rev. W.A. McPheters, Miss Irby's former pastor, officiated.
Miss Irby passed away on May 18, 1991, at King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home.
She was a native of Clarke County, and one of the eleven children of Lewellyn and Amelia Mathis Irby. She taught school in Clarke and Lauderdale Counties over a period of 44 years, where she was affectionately known as "Miss Ella."
She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ara Avera of Quitman and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Leo McDonald, Marlin McDonald, Harwell Brown, Merlin Irby, Danny Irby and Steve Irby.
William D. Bealle

Graveside services for William D. Bealle, age 58, of Jacksonville, Fla., were held June 11, 1991, at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Wright's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bealle passed away on June 7, 1991, at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Bealle; a son, William D. Bealle, Jr., Gainsville, Fla.; a daughter, Kathy B. Gillain, Jacksonville, Fla.; father, William H. Bealle, Quitman; David Bealle, Cummings, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Allen, Baton Rouge, La.; Mrs. Mary Masker, Springfield, Va.
James (Jim) Parish

Services for James (Jim) Parish were held on June 8, 1991, at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Crandall. Rev. Fred Baldwin officiated.
Mr. Parish passed away on June 3, 1991, at the Archusa Convalescent Center. He was born on February 23, 1902, the third child to Rev. and Mrs. George and Sarah Parish in Melvin, Ala.
He worked as a grocery attendent for Roy Smith in Crandall, O.D. Fisher in Quitman and the Long Bell Lumber Company until he retired. He continued to work as a farmer and a family man.
He married the former Miss Annie Willie Mitchell. They had no children, but they served as guardian parents to many.
Survivors include his loving wife, Annie Willie Parish, Quitman; a sister and brother-in-law, Mrs. Creola (Lorenzo) Tooley, Brandon; four sisters proceeded him in death, Willie Ann Mitchell; Alma Bloxson; Siretha Mitchell and Girlie Sumrall; one uncle, Mr. Ellis Tooley, Waynesboro; special friend, Mr. J.B. McRae and his family; a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
