Joanie Christine Reeks

Services for Joanie Christine Reeks, age 18, of Rt. 2 Shubuta, were held on May 18, 1991, at Oak Grove Baptist Church with burial in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Kendrick officiated. Wright's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
   Miss Reeks passed away on May 15, 1991, at Forrest General Hospital inHattiesburg.
   She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Reeks, Shubuta; one brother, John Christoper Reeks, Shubuta; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Margaret J. Reeks, Monroe, Louisiana; and maternal grandparents, Robert B. & Dorothy Pace, Rocky Branch, Louisiana.
   Pallbearers were Jeff Pugh, Keith Dickerson, Corey Denham, Shannon Harvey, John Jordan and Ron Bosarge.


Mollie Edna Hayes

Services for Mollie Edna Hayes, age 98, of Quitman, were held on May 19, 1991, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Doggett and Rev. Rex Yancey officiated.
   Mrs. Hayes passed away on may 17, 1991, at her residence.
   She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Winnie Chapman, Waynesboro; Mrs. Ruby Smith; Mrs. Lillian Haney, both of Quitman; five grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren; and twenty-three great-great grandchildren.


Darcy Gilbert White

Graveside services for Darcy Gilbert  White, age 74, of Oxford, Arkansas, were held on May 21, 1991, Oxford Cemetery. Rev. Chuck Crow officiated and Howard Funeral Home of Melburne was in charge of arrangements.
   Mr. White passed away on May 18, 1991.
   He was a member of the Church of Christ in Melburne; WW II Veteran, U.S. Army Private, Member of the American Legion in Oxford.
   He is survived by his wife, Carole White, Oxford; one son, Darcy White, Jr., Quitman; two daughters, Diana Dale, Sidney, Arkansas; Wanda McConnaughay, Deer, Arkansas; one brother, Robert Dale White, Moses Lake, Washington; one sister, Georgia Wingate, Norman, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.


Sam Ferrell Kennedy, Sr.

Services for Sam Ferrell Kennedy, Sr., age 87, of Rt. 3 Quitman, were held on May 17, 1991, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the McGowan's Chapel Cemetery. Rev. David Jay, Dr. J. Hardee Kennedy and Rev. John Mackey officiated.
   Mr. Kennedy passed away on May 15, 1991, at H.C. Watkins Hospital.
   He is survived by two sons, Sam Ferrill Kennedy, Jr., Newport News, VA.; James H. Kennedy, Quitman; three daughters, Evelyn K. Wallis, Baldwyn, Ms.; Janice K. Smith, Memphis, Tenn.; Amanda Newsome, Quitman; two brothers, Robert Edd Kennedy, Petal; Dr. J. Hardee Kennedy, Meridian; two sisters, Gertrude Dorman, Denham Springs, La.; Gretchen Coalson, Biloxi; sixteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.


Nevil Scott Stewart

Services for Nevill Scott Stewart, age 62, of Rt. 3 Collinsville, were held on May 15, 1991, at First Baptist Church, Collinsville with burial in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. David Sellers officiated. James F. Webb Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
   Mr. Stewart passed away on May 14, 1991, at his residence.
   He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Collinsville where he was a choir member and a deacon; a member of the Long Street Masonic Lodge; and participated in many gospel quartets throughout the stae for many years. He was a retired barber from the Broadmoar Barber Shop.
   He is survived by his wife, Amanda Lee Powell Stewart, Collinsville; three daughters, Marcy Stewart Joyner, Collinsville; Lisa Stewart Todd, Collinsville; Karen Stewart Todd, Chunky; one brother, Joe Stewart, Quitman; two sisters, Bernice Etheridge, Lexie Shelley, Mount Olive, Ms.; three sons-in-law; Oliver Joyner, Collinsville; Dewayne Todd, Collinsville; Danny Lee Todd, Chunky; parents-in-law, Morgan and Willie Lou Powell, Collinsville; six grandchildren; Brad and Broke Joyner, Collinsville; Joshua and Tiffany Todd, Collinsville; Kerri and Danny Todd, Jr., Chunky.
