Andrew Blakeney

Services forAndrew Blakeney, age 93, of Baldwin Park, California, were held on February 9, 1992, at First A.M.E. Church in Pasadena, California.
   Andrew passed away on February 12, 1992, of kidney failure. He was born June 10, 1898, to Thomas Blakeney and Annie Price Blakeney.
   He is survived by a wife, Ruth; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Miller and Mrs. Cora Gray, Chicago, Illinois.


Opal C. Poovey

Services for Opal C. Poovey, age 72, of Shubuta, were held on March 16, 1992, at Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Garland, Texas, with burial in the Mills Cemetery in Garland, Texas.
   Mrs. Poovey passed away on March 13, 1992, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital in Quitman.
   She is survived by her husband, Howard R. Poovey, Shubuta; one son, Robert D. Powell, Meridian; one daughter, Sylvia Jean Butler, Baldwin, Mo.; three sisters, Mrs. Stella Hallenback, Eastland, Texas; Mrs. Ruth Ann Lemmons, Cedar Hill, Texas; and Mrs. Polly Lough, Midlothian, Texas; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.


Mamie Rea Avera

Graveside services for Mamie Rae Avera, age 73, of Rt. 4 Quitman, were held on March 15, 1992, at Avera Cemetery. Rev. James Jenkins officiated.
   Mrs. Avera passed away on March 13, 1992, at Anderson's Hospital.
   She is survived by one son, Samuel Thomas Avera, Quitman; four daughters, Alice Avera, Mobile, Ala.; Nelda McDonald, Memphis, Tenn.; Margaret Smith, Reba Michael, both of Quitman; one sister, Janie Chatham, Meridian; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.


Brenda Wright McInnis

Services for Brenda Wright McInnis, age 27, of Meridian, were held March 12, 1992, at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Forest Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Bob Powell and Rev. Wayne Riley officiated.
   Mrs. McInnis passed away on March 10, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
   She is survived by her husband, Larry McInnis of Meridian; two sons, Anthony Mann and Paul Mann, both of Meriidan; her parents, Walter and Jessie Wright of Meridian; two brothers, Terry Wright of New Orleans; David Wright of Meridian; three sisters, Wanda Atkinson of Butler; Sherry Cameron and Patty Quinnelly of Meridian.
   Brenda was the daughter-in-law of Frank and Merle McInnis of Quitman and the sister-in-law of Randy and Marlene McInnis of Shubuta.


Minnie A. Williamson

Services for Mrs. Minnie A. Williamson, age 94, of 411 S. Liberty St., Canton, Miss., were held on March 17, 1992, at the Montgomery, Memorial Chapel at the Madison United Methodist Church in Canton, Miss. Burial will be in the Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.
   Mrs. Williamson passed away on March 15, 1992, at Madison General Hospital in Canton of heart failure.
   She was a native of Clarke County and a long time resident of Glückstadt. She has been a resident of the Madison County Nursing Home for the last year and a half. She was a member of the Madison Untied Methodist Church.
   She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Elois Schmidt, Jackson; Mrs. Athalee Storment, Reservoir area, Brandon; Mrs. Mary Ellen Alliston, Reservoir area, Brandon; one son, Mr. Leon Williamson, Magnolia, Ms.; three brothers, Mr. Frank Anderson, Mobile; Mr. William Anderson, Quitman; Mr. Wiley Anderson, El Paso, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Sally Morgan, Meridian; Mrs. Ethel Zdenek, Mobile; twelve grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Mr. B.K. Williamson.
   Memorials may be made to the building fund of the Madison United Methodist Church.
