Deborah Gail "Debbie" Chisolm

Services for Deborah Gail "Debbie" Chisolm were held on August 29, 1993, at Enterprise Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Trotter and Rev. Taylor Wallace officiating. Burial was in the Enterprise Cemetery.
   Miss Chisolm, 39, of New Orleans, LA, died Thursday, August 26, 1993, at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans, LA. Miss Chisolm, a graduate of Meridian Junior College and the University of Southern Mississippi, was a special education teacher at Deckbar School in Jefferson Parish, LA, for 14 years; a member of the Enterprise Baptist Church, and Jefferson Federation of Teachers.
   Survivors include her parents, Thomas Chisolm and Merle Chisolm of Enterprise; a sister and brother-in-law, Terri and Tommy Smith of Enterprise; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Cindy Chisolm of Enterprise and Steve and Debbie Chisolm of Dallas, TX, a number of nieces and nephews including Jenny Chisolm, Melissa Chisolm, and Sarah Chisolm, all of Dallas, TX; T. W. Chisolm, Christopher Smith and Nicholas Smith, of Enterprise; Timmie Wilkins of Jackson and Scarlet Gable of San Diego, CA; and her friends, Gwyn Nolan and Olivia Hammons, both of New Orleans, LA.
   The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Leukemia Society of America, 1440 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70112.
   Pallbearers included Andy Kersh, Martin Gunn, Danny Williamson, Jackie Moore, Johnny Speed, Sonny Turnage, Mickey Taylor, and Bobby Davis.


Willie B. Williford

Graveside services for Willie B. Williford were held on September 7, 1993, at Odd Fellows Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Moseley officiating.
   Mr. Williford, age 69, of Rt. 3 Quitman, passed away on September 5, 1993, at H.C. Watkins Hospital.
   Survivors include his wife, Sybil Williford, Quitman; one son, Michael David Williford, Quitman; two daughters, Hilda Ruth Giles and Gloria Marie Williford, both of Quitman; one brother, Lloyd Williford, Meridian and two grandchildren.


Hazel Reeves Purvis

Services for Hazel Reeves Purvis were held on September 7, 1993, at Cuba Baptist Church in Cuba, AL, with burial in the Sumter Memorial Gardens. Rev. David Byrd officiated.
   Mrs. Purvis, age 75, of Sugar Tree, TN, passed away on September 4, 1993, in the City of Milan Hospital in Milan, TN.
   She is survived by a daughter, Marti George, Sugar Tree, TN; one brother, L.J. Reeves, Quitman; one sister, Susie Mae Clark, Houma, LA; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.


George Lawrence Ivey, Sr.

Services for George Lawrence Ivey, Sr., were held on September 8, 1993, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. Wilbur Hall and Rev. Jimmy Sanders officiated.
   Mr. Ivey, age 87, of Rt. 3 Quitman, passed away September 7, 1993, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
   Survivors include his wife, Lois Ivey, Quitman; five sons, George L. Ivey, Jr., Billy Ivey, and Jimmy Ivey, all of Quitman; Rev. Bobby R. Ivey, Gadsden, AL; Kenneth Ivey, Meridian; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Marie Barksdale, Olla, LA; and Mrs. Jackie Sue Davis, Quitman; twenty-three grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.


Katie Ruth Smith

Services for Katie Ruth Smith were held on September 9, 1993, at the Stonewall Assembly of God Church with burial in the Stonewall Cemetery. Rev. C.A. Farmer and Rev. Kenneth Byrd officiated.
   Mrs. Smith, age 70, of Stonewall, passed away on September 7, 1993, at Anderson's Hospital.
   Survivors include her husband, J.D. Smith, Stonewall; one son, Mr. James L. Smith, Grandberry, TX; one daughter, Mrs. Ethel M. Collins, Stonewall; three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Mozingo, and Mrs. Onnie Mae Purcell, both of Stonewall; and Mrs. Louella Kennedy, Enterprise; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.


Odell David Lee

Services for Odell David Lee were held on September 9, 1993, at Stonewall Baptist Church with burial in the Stonewall Cemetery. Rev. Dennis Coats, Rev. Eddie Davidson and Dr. Albert McMullan officiated.
   Mr. Lee, age 64, of Stonewall, passed away on September 7, 1993, at Anderson's Hospital.
   Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Earlene Lee, Stonewall; one daughter, Sheri Taylor, Hattiesburg; one brother, Jack Lee, Stonewall; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Skramstad, Laurel; and Mrs. Clara Mathis, Quitman; one grandchild, Lee Taylor.
   He was preceded in death by one son, Larry Lee.


Barbara B. Walley

Services for Barbara B. Walley were held on September 10, 1993, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Hopewell Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jessie Napp officiated.
   Mrs. Walley, age 35 of Rose Hill, passed away on September 7, 1993, at Anderson's Hospital.
   Survivors include her husband, Mr. Rassie Walley, Rose Hill; two daughters, Miss Amanda Walley and Miss Jennifer Walley, both of Rose Hill; step-father and mother, Mrs. J.W. Cox and Mrs. Annie Ruth Cox, both of Quitman; one sister, Debra Shomin, Elberta, AL.


Ella Jean Hayes

Services for Ella Jean Hayes were held on September 12, 1993, at Bucatunna Baptist Church with burial in the Ford Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Buddy Braddock and Rev. Alan McCord officiated.
   Mrs. Hayes, age 66, of Rt. 6 Meridian, passed away on September 10, 1993, at her residence.
   Survivors include a husband, William T. Hayes, Meridian; mother, Mrs. Sarah Harris, Meehan, MS; one son, William N. Hayes, Meridian; one daughter, Mrs. Zelda Moffett, Meridian; four brothers, Martin Harris, Billy Joe Harris, both of Meehan; Raymond Harris, Meridian and Mack Harris, Mobile, AL; two grandchildren, Charles Glenn Moffett and James David Moffett, both of Meridian.


Olivia Jane Williams

Services for Olivia Jane Williams were held on September 13, 1993, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Sanders and Rev. Dennis Coats officiated.
   Mrs. Williams, age 74, of Quitman, passed away on September 11, 1993, at her residence.
   Survivors include five sons, Jimmy Williams, Bobby Williams, James Edward (Willie) Williams, Johnny Williams, all of Quitman, and Gerald L. (Curly) Williams, Waynesboro; one daughter, Mrs. Sara Williamson, Hattiesburg; five brothers, Ernest Cranford and Bill Cranford, both of Jackson; Frank Cranford, Roy Cranford and Robert Cranford, Quitman; three sisters, Maude Johnson, Margaret Ivey, Voncile Bufkin, Quitman; eighteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
