Elizabeth C. Fatherree

Mrs. Elizabeth C. Fatherree, 88, a school teacher and homemaker of Greymont Avenue, died Thursday, August 12, 1993, at St. Dominic - Jackson Memorial Hospital from cardiac failure.
   Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 14, 1993, in the chapel of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home with burial in Lakewood Cemetery.
   Mrs. Fatherree was a native of Senatobia, MS, where she was educated in the public schools. She received a BA degree and Music Diploma from Mississippi University for Women, and did graduate study at Columbia University in New York. She taught piano and Latin at Lula Rich Consolidated School, Coahoma County, and at Catchings Public School in Sharkey County.
   She was a resident of Jackson since 1934. She served as President of the Fairview Garden Club, Junior Fortnightly Club, and the Capitol Street United Methodist Women. She was the first women to serve on the administrative board of Capitol Street United Methodist Church. She taught the Homemakers Sunday School Class for several years. She was a lifetime member of the Jackson Camilia Society and a great lover of flowers and flower arranging.. She was also a member of the Jackson - Hinds County Retired Teachers Association.
   She is survived by her husband, A. P. Fatherree of Jackson; two sons, Ambrose Prentiss Fatherree, Jr., of Houston, TX; and Jefferson Carter Fatherree of Jackson; two granddaughters, Lisa Fatherree Anderson of Houston, TX; and Bethany Fatherree Pyron of Jackson; three great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Kelly Anderson and Haley Anderson of Houston, TX; and Ali Pyron of Jackson; nephew, William Hall Wallace of Roanoke, VA; and two great nieces and three great nephews.
   The family has requested that any memorial contributions be made to Capitol Street United Methodist Church, the Bond Home or to a favorite charity.


Harry Odell Schrimpshire

Services for Harry Odell Schrimpshire were held on August 14, 1993, at East Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burial in the East Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Rev. Harold Moore and Rev. Clairborne Dearman officiated.
   Mr. Schrimpshire, age 85, of Quitman, passed away on August 12, 1993, at Archusa Convalescent Center.
   Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mildred Schrimpshire, Quitman; four sons, Charles Schrimpshire and Johnny Wayne Schrimpshire, both of Quitman; Richard W. Schrimpshire, Sr., and Douglas Schrimpshire, both of Petal, MS; two daughters, Mrs. Katie Smith and Mrs. Marlene Reese, both of Quitman; twenty grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
   He was preceded in death by one son, Halbert Schrimpshire and one daughter, Annie Laura Reese.


Luna Culbreth Egleston

Graveside services for Luna Culbreth Egleston were held on August 15, 1993, at the Pachuta Cemetery. Dr. Hardee Kennedy officiated.
   Mr. Egleston, age 75, of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away at Baton Rouge General Medical Center.
   Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Kathleen Davis, Nashville, TN; and several nieces and nephews.


Loyd James (L.J.) Davis

Services or Loyd James Davis were held on August 14, 1993, at Webb Funeral Home Chapel in Meridian with burial in the Enterprise Cemetery. Rev. Gene Gordon, Rev. James Holiday and Rev. Taylor Wallace officiated.
   Mr. Davis, age 71, of Enterprise, passed away on August 12, 1993, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
   Survivors include his wife, Winifred Dallas Davis, Enterprise; three daughters, Charlotte McKee, Meridian; Kathy Fisher, Clinton; and Theresa Dollar, Hattiesburg; three granddaughters, Dana Fisher, Clinton; Jessica and Callie Dollar, Hattiesburg; three grandsons, Kenny and Kyle McKee, Meridian; Brian Fisher, Clinton; four brothers, Alvin and Rother Davis, Birmingham, AL; William Davis, Natchitoches, LA, and Billy Davis, Greenville, SC; two sisters, Ruby Agan, Pell City, AL; and Bernice Bryant, Montgomery, AL.
   Mr. Davis was born in Plantersville, AL; and was a retired teacher and football coach at Enterprise High School. He was also a cattle farmer and a member of the Enterprise United Methodist Church.
   Pallbearers included Joe Mallard, Joe Brown, Andy Kersh, Charles Helms, Jimmy Helms, Rube Melton, Micky Taylor, K. C. McKee, Peyton Kidd, Kenneth Murray, Mike Gunn and Stanley Herrington.
   Honorary pallbearers included all former football players, managers and coaches of Enterprise High School.
   Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents Jesse B. and Effie Miller Davis and a sister, Ora Young.
   Memorial contributions may be made to the Enterprise United Methodist Church or Enterprise High School.
