Jessie Lee Jones Johnston

Services for Jessie Lee Jones Johnston were held at Webb Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Enterprise Cemetery. Dr. Lee Berg and Rev. David McCubbin officiated.
   Mrs. Johnston, age 90, of Enterprise, passed away on January 14, 1994, at Riley Memorial Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Meridian. The former teacher was also a retired bookkeeper for Johnston Chevrolet.
   Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Lee Johnston of Enterprise; a sister, Lucille J. Clark of Enterprise; a daughter-in-law, Janet W. Johnston, Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren, Thomas Clayton Johnston, Lee Fredrick Johnston and Laura N. Johnston, all of Dallas.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Fatheree Johnston, Sr., a son, Fred Fatheree Johnston, Jr., and her parents, Alexander C. Jones and Addie Mae Estes Jones and three brothers.
   Pallbearers included Troy Lord, Bill Barnett, Bob Barnett, Dan Coit, Bert Jones, Cecil Jones and Bill Barry.


Benjamin Franklin Holloman, Sr.

Services for Benjamin Franklin Holloman, Sr., were held on January 29, 1994, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Mormon Cemetery. Rev. Bob Powell, Rev. James Parsons and Rev. Charlie Belt officiated.
   Mr. Holloman, age 48, of Rt. 3 Quitman, passed away on January 27, 1994, at Anderson's Hospital.
   Survivors include his wife, Patsy Holloman, Quitman; four sons, Ben Holloman, Ronnie Holloman, Chris Holloman, John Holloman, all of Quitman; four daughters, Angel Colton, Mobile, AL; Rhonda Thomas, Stonewall; Robin Myers, Houston, Texas; Suzanne Holloman, Quitman; three brothers, J. H. Holloman, John Holloman, Jim Holloman, all of Quitman; six sisters, Sadie Anderson, Pensacola, FL; Ida Belle Glass, Lucy May, Quitman; Avie Hawkins, Houston, TX; Annie Shaw, and Eula Mae Conners, Meridian; and sixteen grandchildren.


Lawrence Loyd Lambert

Services for Lawrence Loyd Lambert were held on January 22, 1994, at Pine Grove Baptist Church with burial in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Rev. Buddy Braddock and Rev. Roger McGrew officiated.
   Mr. Lambert, age 79, of Quitman, passed away on January 19, 1994, at his residence.
   Survivors include his wife, Nora Bell Lambert, Quitman; one son, Glynn Earl Lambert and wife, Ina, Nashville, TN; three daughters, Evonne Barnes and husband, J. D. Barnett; Grace Hood, of Mobile, AL: Mary A. Tucker and husband, James G. Tucker, Quitman; two step-sons, Dennis McGrew and wife, Elna Glynn McGrew, Heidelberg; Roger McGrew and wife, Sue D. McGrew, Houston, MS; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
   Mr. Lambert was preceded in death by his first wife, Flarra, and one son, Jimmy.


Kathy Elaine Evans

Services for Kathy Elaine Evans were held on January 30, 1994, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Big Rock Methodist Church cemetery.
   Mrs. Evans, age 40, of Shubuta, passed away on January 28, 1994, at her residence.
   She is survived by two daughters, Emily Evans and Michelle Evans, of Waynesboro, her mother, Virginia Irby Holloman, Meridian; one brother, Michael Holloman, Natchez; four sisters, Susan Newton, DeSoto; Faye Carolyn Pearson, Woodstock, GA; Rita Wilson and Tammy Dickerson, Meridian.


Gertrude C. Bagby

Services for Gertrude C. Bagby were held on January 27, 1994, at Stonewall Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in the Enterprise Cemetery. Rev. C. A. Farmer and Rev. and Mrs. Earsell Boone officiated.
   Mr. Bagby, age 71, of Enterprise, passed away on January 26, 1994 at Anderson's Hospital.
   Survivors include one son, Charles Edward Bagby, Carrolton, GA; three daughters, Mrs. Barbara Mathis, Quitman; Mrs. Betty Smith, Mrs. Ann Kostick, Enterprise; three brothers, Theodore Chandler, Enterprise; Maxie Chandler, Quitman; L. D. Chandler, Brandon; and one sister, Mrs. Bertha Dunnam, Flatwoods, LA; fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.


Joe Paul Martin

Services for Joe Paul Martin were held on January 31, 1994, at Rolling Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Billy Brumfield and Rev. Dennis Kennedy officiated.
   Mr. Martin, age 63, of Stonewall, passed away on January 28, 1994, at his residence.
   He is survived by two brothers, Ray E. Martin, Everett, Mass., and Sammy Martin, Ft. Walton Beach, FL; four sisters, Bertha Young, Helen Zitterow, both of Stonewall; Trucy Goldman, and Merle Kennedy, both of Quitman.


Leonard Clarence Dearman

Services for Leonard Clarence Dearman were held on January 31, 1994, at Energy Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Melvin Boles and Rev. Ronnie Boles officiated.
   Mr. Dearman, age 84, of Meridian, passed away on January 30, 1994, at Meridian Convalescent Center.
   Survivors include his wife, Maude Dearman; three sons, Gene Dearman, Preston Dearman, Virgil Dearman, all of Meridian; one daughter, Florine Dearman, Meridian; five brothers, Harvey Dearman, Clyde Dearman, Leroy Dearman, Cleo Dearman, all of Meridian; Josie Dearman, Alexandria, LA; three sister, Velma Thornhill, Annie Mae Davidson, and Dorothy Smith, all of Meridian; thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.


Bertha Clarissa Ivey

Services for Bertha Clarissa Ivey were held on February 1, 1994, at Pine Grove Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Buddy Braddock officiated.
   Mrs. Ivey, age 90, of Quitman, passed away on January 30, 1994, at Archusa Convalescent Center.
   Survivors include three sons, Evan Ivey, William H. (Billy) Ivey, both of Quitman; Tommy Ivey, Meridian; one sister, Eva Chapman, Laurel; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmitt L. Ivey.
