Nancy Irene Odom

Services for Nancy Irene Odom were held January 19, 1994, at Rolling Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Brumfield and Rev. Jerry Doggett officiating. Burial was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
   Mrs. Odom, age 83, of Hattiesburg, died Monday, January 17, 1994, at the Methodist Hospital in Hattiesburg.
   Survivors include a son, Jimmy D. Odom, Mobile, Ala.; three daughters, Margaret Satcher, Quitman; Clydia Jean Prince, Shubuta; and Birdie Joyce Waldrup of Hattieburg; twelve grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
   Pallbearers were Larry Tuberville, Jams Odom, Charles Odom, Leo Bonner, Dwight Napp and Dale Milstead.


Nellie Vina Porterfield Harris

Services for Nellie Vina Harris Porterfield were held January 14, 1994, at the Seale Funeral Home with burial in the Amite Baptist Church Cemetery in Denham Springs, LA. Rev. Terry Booth officiated.
   Mrs. Harris, age 65, of Denham Springs and a native of Telluride, CO, died on January 12, 1994. She was a member of the Amite Baptist Church.
   Survivors include a daughter, Sharon D. Criswell, Pensacola, FL; three sons, Robert B., Ralph L. and David Lee Harris, all of Denham Springs; two sisters, Faye Nicodemus, Rossemoor, CA; and May Gurstenberger, Denver; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leon Harris and several brothers and sisters.
   Pallbearers were Billy Cavin, Lee Goodson, Wayne Messer, Adam May, Robert Chandler, Mark Monie, Tony Cupit and Robin Ferris.


Vena Joyce Johnston Ballard

Services for Joyce Ballard were held on January 20, 1994, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Enterprise Cemetery. Rev. C.A. Farmer and Rev. Kenneth Byrd officiated.
   Mrs. Ballard, age 64, of Stonewall, died January 18, 1994, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
   Survivors include her husband, Houston Ballard, Stonewall; two daughters, Beth Ballard Dorman, Fayetteville, NC; and Amy Ballard Barry, Jackson, MS; parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Johnston, Enterprise; one brother, David Lee Johnston, Meridian; and three grandchildren.


Doris S. Givens

Graveside ervices for Doris S. Givens were held January 20, 1994, at Green Acres Memorial Park in Vicksburg.
   Mrs. Givens, age 58, of Wiggins, died January 18, 1994, at the Methodist Hospital in Hattiesburg.
   Mrs. Givens, a retired educator, died of complications of cancer in the Methodist Hospital.
   She worked with the public schools of Mississippi for 24 years, during which time she utilized her five areas of certification as a classroom instructor for grades 1-10; middle school assistant principal; Jr. High school principal; and director of high school chorus.
   She finished high school in Gulfport and complete both her undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Southern Mississippi, with additional graduate work at Mississippi State University. Until her illness, she was active with the U.S.M. Alumni Association, which honored here with the continuous outstanding service award.
   She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Mississippi Professional Educators - having served on the Board of Directors. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church, having served as church school teacher, organist, counselor for United Methodist Youth Fellowship, choir member and member of the Administrative Board.
   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Methodist Hour TV ministry at P.O. Box 16657, Hattiesburg.
   Survivors include her husband, Rev. Roy Givens, Jr., Wiggins; three sons, Roy Givens, III, Robert Givens, both of Meridian; and Steward Givens, Montgomery, AL; a daughter, Carla Givens, Houston, TX; and a granddaughter, Brittany Givens, Meridian.


Wade Donald Willoughby

Services for Wade Donald Willoughby were held January 17, 1994, at Webb Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Magnolia Cemetery. Rev. Robert Horel officiated.
   Mr. Willoughby, age 84, of Meridian, died January 15, 1994, at Queen City Nursing Home.
   The Clarke County native operated a service station for many years and retired from Temple Ford Co.
   Survivors include his wife, Jewel Seale Willoughby, Meridian; two sisters, Carrie Galyean and Florence Mosley, both of Meridian.
