Eva Grace Waltman

Services for Eva Grace Waltman were held Wednesday, December 29, 1993, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Russell Luquire officiating. Burial was in Oddfellows Cemetery.
   Mrs. Waltman, 69, owner of Waltman Realty died Monday, December 27, 1993 in Elmore Community Hospital, Wetumpka, Alabama.
   Survivors include: two sons, Gerald Waltman, Quitman, and Gene Waltman, Houston, TX; two daughters, Faye LaBoone, Quitman, and Hazel Jones, Titus, AL.; one brother, Rex E. Long, Quitman, 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
   Wright's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Katie Lee Morgan

Services for Katie Lee Morgan were held Friday, December 31, 1993, at St. Michaels Catholic Church with Father Remigius Kozak and Father Anthony Quyet officiating. Burial was in St. Michaels Cemetery.
   Mrs. Morgan, 86, died Wednesday, December 29, 1993, in H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
   Survivors include: four sons, William Lee Morgan, Mobile, AL., John Wesley Morgan, Quitman, Rudolph Morgan, Pachuta, and George Matthew Morgan, Rose Hill; two daughters, Katherine Rebecca Williams, Pachuta and Jewel Lewis, Rose Hill; one brother, Martin Edwards, Brandon; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
   Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her husband, Vardaman Morgan.
   Wright's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


John Kenneth Thomas

Services for John Kenneth Thomas were held Thursday, December 30, 1993 at Rolling Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Brumfield and Rev. John Edwards officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
   Mr. Thomas, 49, died Wednesday, December 29, 1993 in Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center, Meridian.
   Survivors include: mother, Mrs. Annie L. Thomas, Quitman; two brothers, Ralph Thomas and Raymond Thomas both of Quitman; two sisters, Lou Ree Welborn, Quitman and Annie Ruth Beason, Hattiesburg; several nieces and nephews.
   Wright's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


George Freeman McNeill

Funeral services for George Freeman, 60, of Lucedale, were held December 23, 1993, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lucedale.
   McNeill, was a native of Clarke County, near Vossburg, and a long time resident of Lucedale. He was retired from the Mississippi Cooperative Extension Service, and served as County Agent in George County from 1971 to 1990. He was also an active member of First United Methodist Church, where he was chairman of the Board, member of the Council on Ministries, and adult men's Sunday School teacher, president of the Men's club and the Building Committee. He was serving as vice-chairman of the Board.
   He was a 1951 graduate of Pachuta High School, a graduate and active alumni of Mississippi State University and was a past president of the George County chapter. He was also a past president of the Lucedale Rotary Club and of the George County Chamber of Commerce.
   At the time of his death, he was serving as executive director of the George County Economic Development Foundation.
   Among the honors and achievements of his many years of public service were: MCES Assisant County Agent, 1957-1963; Bank of Commerce, Assistant Cashier, Poplarville, 1963-1965; Associate County Agent, Pearl River County, 1965-1971; Area Horticulture Marketing Specialist, 1987-90; member of the Farm Bureau and Mississippi Cattlemen's Association. He helped establish the George-Jackson County Cattlemen's Association and developed the state Market Hog Buying Station.
   As a member of the state and national County Agent's Association, he was a voting delegate of National Association of County Agricultural Agents; chairman of the State Hospitality Committee, 1970; National Professional Improvement Committee, 1969; National Officer Screening Committee, 1978; National Program Committee, 1981; District Chairman, Recognition and Awards Committee, 1981-82; received the Distinguished Service Award in 1980 and Outstanding County Agent in 1979.
   McNeill is survived by his wife, Faye McNeill of Lucedale; a son, Andrew McNeill and daughter-in-law, Reini McNeill; a daughter, Melinda Howell and son-in-law, Jeff Howell and two grandchildren, Tyler and Jeffry Howell, all of Lucedale. Also surviving is a sister, Sara Salters of Magee.
   Services were conducted by Rev. John Harper. Interment was in Magnolia Cemetery with Fails Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
   Pallbearers include Ruffin Graham, Roy Grafe, Fred Gill, M.L. Goff, Jack Ware and A.B. Brantley. Members of the Men's Bible Class and his friends from the Mississippi Cooperative Extension Service were honorary pallbearers.
   Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 845, Lucedale; or to Mississippi State University Foundation, designated to the memory of George F. McNeill, P.O. Drawer 6149, Miss. State, MS. 39762 or at First National Bank, 300 West Main St., Lucedale.


Mary Frances Pearson

Services for Mary Frances Pearson were held Monday, January 3, 1994, at McGowan's Chapel United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
   Mrs. Pearson, 78, died Saturday January 1, 1994, at Archusa Convalescent Center.
   Survivors include: one son, Leroy Pearson, Quitman; three daughters, Mary Dunn, Meridian; Sheila White, Pachuta; and Diane Lewis, Bessemer, AL.; three brothers, Robert Price and James D. Price, both of Quitman, and John Price, Tuscaloosa, AL.; four sisters, Kathleen Kean and Lillian Ward both of Meridian; Ruth Conway, Linden, AL and Mildred Smith, Quitman.
   Wright's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Earline Allen

Services for Earline Allen were held Tuesday, January 4, 1994, at 11:00 a.m. from Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earsell Boone and Rev. Jimmy Seale officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery.
   Ms. Allen, 58, died Sunday, January 2, 1994, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center, Meridian.
   Survivors include: one son, Robert Allen, Quitman; two daughters, Jean Stokes, Quitman and Debbie Tucker, Stonewall; father, William Pruitt, Stonewall; four brothers, Earl Pruitt, Toxey, AL., John D. Pruitt and Harvey Lee Pruitt both of Gilbertown, AL., J.C. Pruitt, Quitman; two sisters, Lillie Smith, Lucedale and Hazel Bonner, Quitman; and four grandchildren.
