Eva C. Cranford Duell

Services for Eva C. Cranford Duell were held November 3, 1994, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Stonewall Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Doggett officiated.
   Mrs. Duell, 71, of Meridian, died October 31, 1994, at Riley Nursing Center in Meridian.
   Survivors include a son, Freddie Duell, Enterprise; three daughters, Sara Catherine Patrick, Stonewall; Barbara Dubose, Vancleave, MS; and Lola Duell Powell, Gulfport; a brother, C.J. "Shug" Cranford, Stonewall; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
   She is preceded in death by a son, Clarence Thadius King; father and mother, Clarence and Velma Cranford, and a sister, Lula Mae McKee.
   A long-time resident of Stonewall, she was a member of the Stonewall First Baptist Church.


Leroy Holifield

Services for Leroy Holifield were held November 2, 1994, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Corinth church cemetery. Rev. Johnny Moseley officiated.
   Mr. Holifield, 49, of Quitman, died October 31, 1994, at Anderson's Hospital.
   Survivors include his wife, Relda Holifield, Quitman; two sons, Kevin Holifield and Philip Holifield, both of Quitman; two daughters, Michelle Haney and Beverly McCarra, both of Quitman; four brothers, Clifton Holifield, Tillman's Corner, AL; Jimmy Dale Holifield, Eight Mile, AL; Ervin Holifield, Quitman; and Virgil Holifield, Quitman; two sisters, Lucille Schrimpshire, Quitman; and Mary Lou Carney, Eight Mile, AL; and three grandchildren.


Ruby W. Guest

Services for Ruby W. Guest were held November 5, 1994, at Enterprise Baptist Church with burial in the Enterprise Cemetery. Rev. Frank Trotter, Rev. Taylor Wallace and Rev. Parker Chancellor officiating.
   Mrs. Guest, 101, of Enterprise, died November 1, 1994, at Wichita Falls Nursing Home in Wichita Falls, TX.
   Survivors include two daughters, Helen Priester, Wichita, Falls, TX; and Mildred Ward, Washington, D.C.; and several nieces and nephews.


Gordy Mae Hughes

Services for Gordy Mae Hughes were held October 29, 1994, at Wright and Fergerson Funeral Home with burial in Lakewood Cemetery.
   Miss Hughes, 85, died of heart failure October 26, 1994, at Pinehaven Nursing Home in Clinton.
   Miss Hughes was a native of Copiah County. She was a graduate of Mississippi Woman's College and taught in the Liberty, Fremont, Bay Springs and Quitman school districts. She also worked as director of music and as secretary at Quitman First Baptist Church for 12 years.
   Survivors include a sister, Ruth Milliren of Corcoran, California.


Charles Steven Parker

Services for Charles Steven Parker were held November 8, 1994, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Doggett officiated.
   Mr. Parker, 47. of Quitman, died November 6, 1994.
   Survivors include his wife, Veronica Parker, Quitman; a son, James Eddy Parker, Quitman; a daughter, Sylvia Annette Parker, Hattiesburg; mother, Frances Parker, Quitman; step-father, Clyde Parker, Quitman; and a sister, Beth Knight, Meridian.


Preston Joe Dew

Services for Preston Joe Dew will be held November 9, 1994, 10:00 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Antioch Cemetery. Rev. Bob Whitaker, Rev. Parker Chancellor and Lavelle Dew officiated.
   Mr. Dew, 43, of Pearl, died November 6, 1994, at the University Hospital in Jackson.
   Survivors include his wife, Paula Dew, Pearl; mother, Daisy Dew, Quitman; seven brothers, J.W. Dew, Shubuta; John Sidney Dew, Jr., Quitman; Jackie Dew, Hobbs, New Mexico; Donald Dew and Willie Dew, both of Quitman; Bobby Lafferty, Waynesboro; Jerry Jones, Chunky; five sisters, Mary Ann Thead, Meridian; Elaine Reed, Hobbs, New Mexico; Ann Easterwood, Atlanta, GA; Kay Shivers, Pearl; and Renee Parish, Ardmore, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews.


John Willie "Bud" Sanders

Services for John Willie "Bud" Sanders were held November 8, 1994, at Souenlovie Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Parker Chancellor officiated.
   Mr. Sanders, 85, of Enterprise, died November 6, 1994, at his residence.
   Survivors include his wife, Lettie Sanders, Enterprise; a son, Carl Sanders, Pachuta; a daughter, Sandra Walker, Enterprise; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.


Loys Wilbon Odom

Services for Loys Wilbon Odom were held Sunday, November 6, 1994, at Geneva Presbyterian Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Steve Hamilton officiated.
   Mr. Odom, 78, of Langsdale, died November 4, 1994, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
   Survivors include: Mrs. Annie L. Odom, Langsdale; one son, Thomas Wibbon Odom, Langsdale; one brother, L.B. Odom, Matherville; one sister, Mrs. Pat Harrison, Matherville; four grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
   Freeman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Owen Tollie Carlisle

Services for Owen Tollie Carlisle were held on November 6, 1994, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Archusa Memorial Gardens in Quitman. Rev. Jimmy Seals and Rev. Glen McLeod officiated.
   Mr. Carlisle, 89, of Stonewall, died November 3, 1994, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
   Survivors include his wife, Cannie Carlisle, Stonewall; a son, Leonard Carlisle, Butler, AL; two daughters, Vewell Ivey, Stonewall; and Lenora Napp, Quitman; two sisters, Lula Mae Carmichael, Stonewall; Flora Jones, Enterprise; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.


Mattie Dell McCarty Davis

Services for Mattie Dell McCarty Davis were held November 1, 1994, at Enterprise Baptist Church with burial in the Enterprise cemetery. Rev. Frank Trotter and Rev. Taylor Wallace officiated.
   Mrs. Davis, 87, of Enterprise, died October 30, 1994, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center..
   Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Gwendolyn Burt, Enterprise; niece, Betty Jo Davis Whitfield, Fort Worth, TX; granddaughter, Phyllis Brewer, Waynesboro and a grandson, Joe Burt, Enterprise.
   Mrs. Davis was a member of the Enterprise Baptist Church and Missionary Society.
   Great-grandsons served as pallbearers: Bryan Kyle, Burt Brewer, Adam Brewer, Jason Burt, Casey Burt and Richard Lee.

Wilner E. Pritchett was born on 23 July 1918 in Brewton, Escambia, Alabama. She died on 29 September 2004. She is buried in Springhill Metho...
