R. E. Willliams, Jr. 86, of Meridian, passed away on March 23, 2015 at the V. A. Nursing Center in Collins, MS.
He was born on July 15, 1928 to Reece and Annie (Harper) Williams in Clarke County, MS.
Mr. Williams was a deacon and lifetime member of Union Baptist Church. He was a farmer and forester. He served in United States Marine Corp. during Korean Conflict.
Reece is survived by his wife, Clarice Brown Williams; sons, Steven Williams, Daryl (Diane) Williams, and Daniel Williams; daughter, Gnger Bernard; 8 grandchildren, Justin Wells, Ethan Williams, Amber Barnes, Danielle Williams, Reece Williams, Elijah Williams, Mandy Miles, and Chrissie Williams and 9 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 27, 2015, after 5:00 pm at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015, 11:00 am at the Union Baptist Church with Rev. James Pugh and Rev. Bill Webb officiating. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
