Ann Rainey Chancellor

MACON - Services for Ann Rainey "Tiny" Chancellor will be held today at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Macon with the Rev. Andy Pearson officiating. Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery. Cockrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
   Mrs. Chancellor, 82, of Macon, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Macon and a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed books, music, playing golf and bridge, but the love of her life was her children, grandchildren and friends. Se blessed and graced everyone's life who knew her through the example of living life, living so richly and deeply, and most of all, living her faith in her Lord Jesus.
   Survivors include her daughter, Mary Ann Walker and her husband, James "Sparky," of Hattiesburg; sons, John M. Chancellor and his wife, Jeanette, of Macon, and Lester M. "Poo" Chancellor and his wife, Gloria, of Meridian; A brother, Bill Rainey and his wife, Dee, of Gulfport; a sister, Millie Rainey Kirksey and her husband, Robert Hugh, of Aliceville, Ala.; grandchildren, Don Chancellor of Jackson, Shannon Chancellor of Biloxi, John Chancellor and his wife, Wendy, and Sparkman Walker, all of Hattiesburg, Callie Chancellor Zaugg and her husband, Todd, of Memphis, Tenn., Leslie Ann Hiatt and her husband, Anthony, of Meridian, Rainey Chancellor of Washington, D. C. and Ann Chancellor Walker of Jackson; and seven great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester M. "Tinky" Chancellor; a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Diane Chancellor; and her parents, William Rufus and Mary Murphey Rainey.
   Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Macon or to Central Academy.
   Pallbearers will be John Chancellor Jr., Sparkman Walker, Don Chancellor, Anthony Hiatt, John Breaux, Prentiss Chancellor and Will Lloyd Chancellor.
   Visitation will be today from 9:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. at the church.

Services for Celia Kidd Massingill will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sam Hull officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
   Mrs. Massingill, 92, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home. She was retired secretary and clerk at FrugĂ© Oil and Rush Foundation Hospital.
   Survivors include her daughter, Jerilyn Massingill Lampman of Edwardsville, Ill.; grandchildren, Richard Massingill Jr. and his wife, Kay, of Chunky and Dr. Scott Massingill and his wife, Anne Marie, of Meridian; great-grandchildren, Brandon Massingill and Allen Massingill, both of Meridian, Tony Lampman and Nick Lampman, both of Edwardsville, Lauren Massingill of Chunky and April Massingill of Meridian; sisters, Ouida Kidd Brett of Meridian and Lois Kidd Finfrock of Dallas; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Massingill; a son, Richard Massingill; a grandson, George Lampman III; brothers, Johnny Kidd and Allen Kidd; and sisters, Edna Riley and Zue Brown.
   Memorials may be made to East End United Methodist Church.
   Pallbearers will be Richard Massingill, Scott Massingill, Brandon Massingill, J.B. Griffith, David P. Poole and Allen Massingill. Honorary pallbearer will be Billy Brown.
   Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for Velda Lightsey Roberts will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dr. Raymon Leake and Robert Allen officiating. Burial and graveside services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Oxford Memorial Cemetery.
   Mrs. Roberts, 86, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital. She was a retired social worker with the Lauderdale County Department of Human Services. She was a past employee of the Lauderdale County Juvenile Center and a member of Highland Baptist Church.
   Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Edwin H. Roberts Sr. of the Veterans Home in Oxford, formerly of Meridian; sons, Chancery Judge Edwin H. Roberts Jr. and his wife, Celia, of Oxford and Circuit Court Judge Larry Roberts and his wife, Sheila, of Meridian; grandchildren, Mike Roberts and his wife, Ashley, Scott Roberts and his wife, Lori, Lisa Roberts, David W. Roberts and Bryan Roberts; three great-grandchildren; a brother, two sisters, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
   She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Alma Lightsey; a grandson, Edwin H. Roberts III; and four brothers.
   Memorials may be made to Heart and Hand Inc., P.O. Box 1714, Brandon, MS 39043.
   Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

NEWTON - Services for James Harlon Stamper will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Mike Russell and Scott Engle officiating. Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
   Mr. Stamper, 69, of Decatur, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, in his home. He was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church in Decatur and a Mason. He was a veteran of the 186th Combat Support Squadron Air Guard in Meridian. He retired from South Central Bell Telephone Co. after more than 32 years.
   Survivors include his wife, Carol Godwin Stamper of Decatur; daughters, Gaylene Hall and her husband, Jeff, of Newton and Ashley Stamper of Decatur; sons, Ken Stamper and his wife, Andrea, of Apex, N.C., Kevin Stamper of Philadlephia, Craig Stamper and his wife, Shawntal, of Decatur and Randy Godwin and his wife, Laurie, of Newton; grandchildren, Matt Stamper, Miles Stamper, Jada McKinion, Justin McKinion, Jesse Nelson, Tami Nelson, Russ Godwin and Ryan Godwin.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, Liza Lee Russell Stamper and James Spurgeon Stamper; and a brother, Williard Ray Stamper.
   Memorials may be made to T- Gideons.
   Pallbearers will be Jerry Russell, Scotty Russell, Eddie Stamper, Barkley Cooksey, Sidney Key and Randy Godwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Reeves, David Terrell and Ronnie Pearson.

Graveside services for Theresa Laynell Suttles will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. View Baptist Church Cemetery with the Revs. Frankie Boyett and Johnny Smith officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
   Mrs. Suttles, 50, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
   Survivors include her husband, James Bradley Suttles; daughters, Renee Quinn and her husband, Stacy, and Brandy Robinson and her husand, Lance; sons, Terry Suttles and Danny Suttles, all of Meridian; grandchildren, Brandon, Taylor, Tyler, Brooke and Kaity; a sister-in-law, Yvone Cox of Meridian; a brother-in-law, John Suttles and his wife, Gial, of Meridian; several nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Felton Shadows.
   Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

DENHAM SPRINGS, La. - Graveside services for Theda Boutwell Tindle will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Orange Grove Cemetery in Moss Point. Seale Funeral Services Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
   Mrs. Tindle, 72, of Denham Springs, formerly of Stonewall, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, La.
   Survivors include her son, Randy Tindle; brothers, Ray Boutwell and his wife, Betty, Bobby Boutwell and his wife, Pat, all of Pascagoula; step-sisters, Ann, Billie, Delores and Jean, all of Meridian; two grandchildren, several other relatives and friends.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, J. B. Tindle; her parents, Mary and Lamar House; a sister, Edna Golden; a brother, Joe Boutwell; and a step-sister, Theresa.

FOREST - Services for Tonia Renae Beebe will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at Ott and Lee Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the the Beebe Family Cemetery.
   Miss Beebe, 30, of Meridian, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, in her home.
   Survivors include her parents, Buddy and Linda Beebe of Forest; sisters, Tina Ivy of Enterprise, Brandy Rowell of Pelahatchie and Angelia Jenkins of Forest; her paternal grandparents, Harland Beebe of Shinute, Kan.; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
   She was preceded in death by her mother, Patty Carol Beebe; and her grandparents, Patty B. and J. D. Sistrunk.

Graveside services for Evelyn Clayton West will be held today at 2 p.m. at Clayton Cemetery in Lockhart with the Rev. Robert Horel officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
   Mrs. West, 97, of Pryor, Okla. formerly of Lauderdale, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, in Tulsa, Okla.
   She was born on Jan. 21, 1907 to W.L. and Evie Clayton. She was a graduate of Ponta High School and Mississippi State College for Women. She taught in public schools in Mississippi and Oklahoma for many years.
   Mrs. West loved crafts and took great pride in her garden. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt. She was a member of First Methodist Church in Pryor.
   Survivors include her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Larey and her husband, Lance, of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Siddie Lewin Wedgeworth of Lauderdale; nieces, Nancy Clayton Herring of Hattiesburg and Joyce Cobb Thornton of Lauderdale; a nephew, William S. Cobb of Lena; six great-nieces, one great-nephew, three great-great-nieces and four great-great-nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn R. West; her parents, a sister, Nannie Ruth Cobb; brothers, W.L. "Peck" Clayton, John Clayton and David Clayton.
   Visitation will be today beginning at noon at the funeral home.

Services for Thomas V. "Tom" Melton Sr. will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Druid Hills United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Meadows officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
   Mr. Melton, 91, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Durant, a longtime resident of Pascagoula and moved to Meridian in 1987. He was a member of Druid Hills United Methodist Church and the Friends Together Sunday School Class. He was a 58-year Master Mason in good standings in the Grand Lodge of F.&A.M. No. 419 and a member of the Wahabi Shriners A.A.O.N.M.S. of Jackson.
   Survivors include his wife, Annie Melton of Meridian; a son, Tom Melton and his wife, Pam, of Greenville; a daughter, Betty Melton; grandchildren, T.J. Melton and Danielle Melton, both of Greenville, S.C.; a sister, Louie Mae Giles of Monticello; a special friend, Becky Luke of Meridian; several nieces and nephews.
   Pallbearers will be Hubert Langford, Jimmy Myers, Earl Miller, James Bond, Pete Lucovich, Warren Collins and John Gressett.
   Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the funeral home and Friday 30 minutes prior to the service.
