Nevins McClerkin
The Clarke County Tribune
On Saturday night a veil of sadness was drawn over the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. N. McClerkin when their young son, Nevins, passed away after a brief illness, lock-jaw getting in its deadly work.
Nevins was a bright young lad of eleven summers, obedient, affectionate and manly. His kind and generour disposition made him a favorite among his schoolmates and friends. He was a consistent member of the Methodist Sunday School, and his class mates were honorary pall bearers. The largest concourse ever attending a funeral in Quitman, was present when the last sad rites were said, and Nevins was tenderly laid to rest.
The fond parents have the sympathy of everyone in their sad irreparable loss.
