G. S. "Red" Perkins, 65, 3 Bonneville Drive, Hampton, died Thursday in Riverside Hospital after a short illness.
He was a native of Newport News and a lifelong resident of the Peninsula.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Betty Perkins; one son, George S. Perkins of Biloxi, Miss; one sister, Mrs. Flossie Perkins White of Maggie, N.C.; one brother, Charles Atwood Perkins of Seaford, and four grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 3:30 Sunday in Peninsula Funeral Home by the Rev. Ernest Bass of Langley Baptist Church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight in the funeral home and requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
