Mark Anthony Perkins was born on 13 February 1959. He died on 18 May 1978 in Gulfport, Harrison, Mississippi from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He is buried in Manassa Cemetery in Quitman, Clarke, Mississippi.

Services for Mark Anthony Perkins, 19, of Gulfport, were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Manassa Methodist Church with the Rev. Bernice Fleming officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery under the direction of Wright Funeral Home.
Mr. Perkins died Thursday at the family home.
Survivors include his father, George S. Perkins of Gulfport; his mother, Mrs. Jeanette Jacobs and stepfather Darnell Jacobs of Quitman; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R.G. Cook of Quitman; stepgrandmother, Mrs. Eva Jacobs of Quitman; three brothers, Russell, Terry Allen and John Perkins; and a halfbrother, Greg Jacobs of Quitman.
