Just as we go to press a message has been received by the senior editor announcing the death of G. B. Gavin, youngest brother of D. C. Gavin of this place. Deceased once lived in Quitman, but for the last several years has been living at the old homestead in Choctaw County, Ala., near Riderwood.
A good and true man has fallen. He leaves a wife, several children and a large number of other relatives and friends. He was a consistent and faithful member of the Methodist Church. Burial will be at old Mt. Hebron Church Saturday morning.
A. J. Dixon and John V. Sullivan

Senatobia. - The remains of two Confederate soldiers who died at almost the same hour were laid to rest near here. A. J. Dixon was buried in Bethesda cemetery here, and John V. Sullivan was buried at the Dean cemetery, eight miles east of Senatobia. There have been six Confederate soldiers of the county to die within the past four or five months. Mr. Dixon and Mr. Sullivan were both in their eighty-third year, and both led active lives up until within a few weeks of their death.
