Fred McDavitt died Tuesday night, August 7th, from an operation that night. He was buried August 10th in Shubuta cemetery. The services were from his mother's residence and conducted by Rev. J. M. Phillips, assisted by Rev. F. G. Diamond. The casket was covered with flowers. Business houses closed for the burial.
Deceased was 32 years old last March and was a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. He leaves his mother, Mrs. Abbie McDavitt, and five sisters and brothers as follows: Mrs. Charlie Beverly, Abera, Miss,; Dr. J. A. McDavitt, Shubuta; Mrs. Will Phillips, Stringford; Mrs. Joe Beverly, McHenry; Miss Kate McDavitt, Shubuta; Mrs. J. L. Weaver, Shubuta; Dr. John McDavitt, Barnett; and Joe McDavitt, Shubuta.
