Richard Allen Massingill, Sr.

Services for Richard Allen Massingill, Sr., age 55, of 117 Carter St., Quitman, were held Tuesday, April 16, 1991, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Meridian with burial in the Magnolia Cemetery. Rev. Henry Hudson and Rev. Harold Miller officiated. Stephens Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
   Mr. Massingill passed away on April 14, 1991, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
   He was born in Lauderdale County, Ms., and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Mason and Shriner, Graduate of MSU and taught school and coached in Lauderdale County Schools. He was employed as a Circulation Manager for The Meridian Star.
   Mr. Massingill is survived by his wife, Tina Beaty Massingill, Quitman; sons, Richard Allen Massingill, Jr., Meridian; Dr. Samuel Scott Massingill, Jackson; step-sons, Kerry Lee Adams, Carthage, Texas; Phillip Painter, Nathan Painter and Toby Painter, all of Quitman; three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; his mother, Celia Massingill, Meridian; and a sister, Jeri Lampman, St. Louis, Mo.
   Pallbearers were Jerry McCeleskey, Robert Pace, Charlies Yates, Jeff Lewis, Bill Anders, Edward Stephens, Russell Boyette and J.B. Griffith.
   Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.


Mattie L. Herrington

Services for Mattie L. Herrington, age 79, of Rt. 2 Enterprise, were held April 14, 1991, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Pachuta Cemetery. Rev. Danny Bullock and Rev. Taylor Wallace officiated.
   Mrs. Herrington passed away on April 12, 1991, at H.C. Wakiins Hospital.
   She is survived by two sons, Walter A. Herrington III, Smithton, Il.; Stanley Herrington, Enterprise; two daughters, Betty H. Simpson, Brandon; Sandy Sanders, Jackson; one sister, Willa Yarbrough, Meridian; nineteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
   She is preceeded in death by her husband, Walter Andrew Herrington, Jr., and three children, Ethel Weldon, Howard Herrington and Ray Herrington.
   Pallbearers were Don Dunnigan, Rickey Herrington, Jeff Herrington, Michael Simpsono, Jimmy Herrington, Jason Herrington.
   Honorary Pallbearers were L.J. Davis and James Graham.


Douglas Edward Braswell

Services for Douglas Edward Braswell, age 37, of Rt. 2 Waynesboro, were held on April 14, 1991, at Providence Congregtional Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Mark Thead officiated and Wright's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
   Mr. Braswell passed away on April 12, 1991, at Anderson's Hospital.
   He is survived by his wife, Sandra Braswell, Waynesboro; one step-son, Roger Eric McMichael, Waynesboro; two step-daughters, Sachia McMichael, Kresha McMichael, both of Waynesboro; his mother, Emma Braswell, Waynesboro; one brother, Willie Braswell, McComb; one sister, Sarah Dobbs, Attalla, Al.


Thomas Byrd "Pete" Everett

Services for Thomas Byrd "Pete" Everett, age 84, of Rt. 2 Enterprise, were held April 13, 1991, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Pine Hill Cemetery. Rev. Roy Garrison officiated.
   Mr. Everett passed away on April 11, 1991, at McNeil Nursing Center.
   He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillian Everett, Enterprise; two sons, Douglas Everett, Enterprise; Dennis H. Everett, Bay Springs, Ms.; one daughter, Bettye Hayes, Meridian, Ms.; three sisters, Inez Crisp, Canton, Ohio; Emma Lou Watson, Enterprise; Beatrice Kidd, Beaumont, Texas; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.


Alice Carter Culpepper

Graveside services for Alice Carter Culpepper, age 80, of Quitman, were held on April 16, 1991, at Odd Fellows Cemetery with Rev. Russell LuQuire officiating. Wright's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
   Mrs. Culpepper passed away on April 14, 1991, at Riley's Hospital.
   She is survived by one daughter, Carmen Hammack, Quitman; nieces, Celia Carter Muths and Mary Carter Speed.
