Robert L. Donald

Services for Robert L. Donald of Route 1, Quitman were held August 12, 1990, at Mt. Rose Baptist Church with Turner's Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Rev. Carlos P. Wilson officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
   Mr. Donald passed away August 9, 1990, at Waktins Memorial Hospital.
   He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ola Mae Donald of Quitman; two sons, Robert V. Donald of Quitman and Don L. Donald of Gary, Indiana; four daughters, Mrs. Ethel R. McRae of Quitman, Mrs. A. Evelyn Dillard of Meridian, Mrs. Mary J. Tillman and Mrs. Dorothy Hardiman, both of Gary, Indiana; eighteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.


Nellie Hazel King Smith

Services for Nellie Hazel King Smith, age 69, of Stonewall were held August 15, 1990, at Stonewall Baptist Church with Wright's Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Dr. Albert McMullian officiated. Burial was in the Stonewall cemetery.
   Mrs. Smith passed away August 13, 1990, at her residence.
   She was a member of Stonewall Baptist Church and taught a pre-school Sunday School class for forty years.
   Mrs. Smith is survived by one son, Carlie Smith of Enterprise; one daughter, Virginia Fleming of Stonewall; three brothers, James E. King, John H. King and Robert H. King, all of Stonewall; three sisters, Irene Stallings of Friendship, Tenn., Ruby Carlisle of Stonewall and Ruth Bryant of Ovett, MS; three granddaughters, Robin McPhearson of Meridian, Sandra Mallard of Germany and Doris McLain of Runnelstown; one grandson, Alan Fleming of Stonewall; three great-granddaughters, Ashley McPhearson of Meridian, Melinda Mallard of Germany and Haylee McLain of Runnelstown; one great-grandson, Ric Mallard of Germany.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Zell Smith.


Edgar Ray Riley

Services for Edgar Ray Riley, age 72, of DeSoto were held August 18, 1990, at DeSoto Baptist Church with Wright's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Rev. Grady Crowell and Rev. Jim Harris officiated.
   Mr. Riley passed away August 17, 1990, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
   He is survived by his wife, Christine Riley of DeSoto; four sons, Van Riley of DeSoto, Alton Riley of Escatawpa, MS; Larry Riley of Grenada, MS, and Wayne Riley of Meridian; three daughters, Lisa Harris of DeSoto, Paula Manasco of Pearl, MS, and Patty Combest of Stonewall; one sister, Doris Pearson of Stonewall; fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
   He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Teresa Riley West.


Alvin Warren Carmichael

Services for Alvin Warren Carmichael, age 89, of Carmichael were held August 16, 1990, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Wright's in charge of arrangements. Rev. Terry Gondman and Rev. Wayne Taylor officiated. Burial was at Center Ridge Cemetery.
   Mr. Warren passed away August 14, 1990, at his residence.
   He was a life-long resident of Clarke County and a member of Center Ridge Baptist Church. He was a Mason and a Shriner and was a trustee of Carmichael School District for numerous years and Commissioner of Soil Conservation Service for many years. He was also a charter member of Coon Lane Hunting Club and Carmichael Saddle Club.
   Mr. Carmichael is survived by his wife, Carrie Lee Carmichael of Carmichael; three sons, Oscar Carmichael, Jack Carmichael and Burt Carmichael, all of Carmichael; one daughter, Eloise Hailes of Schertz, Texas; eight grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.


George H. Humphrey, Jr.

Funeral services for George Harold Humphrey, Jr. of Chickasawhay, Alabama, were held in Saraland on Friday, August 10, 1990. The Rev. Dale Walker, Dr. Bob Barker, the Rev. Bill Stevens and the Rev. Mickey Humphrey officiated.
   Mr. Humphrey died Tuesday, August 7.
   A native of Melburne, Alabama, he served in Company 1437, CCC at Clarkco, SP-3. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and later worked on the GM&O Railroad.
   He is survived by his wife Mrs. Louise Humphrey of Chickasaw, two sons, Rev. Mickey H. Humphrey of Monroe, La., and Mr. Larry F. Humphrey of Lake City, FL; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mae Roberson of Columbus, MS; and other relatives.
   Interment was in Pine Crest Cemetery. Radney Funeral Home of Saraland was in charge of arrangements.
