James Byron Rowell

Services for James Bryon Rowell, age 56, of Rt. 3 Vossburg, were held on October 20, 1990, at Knights Valley Baptist Church with burial in Goodwater Cemetery. Rev. C.C. Burns officiated.
   Mr. Rowell passed away on October 18, 1990, at Forrest General Hospital.
   Mr. Rowell was a veteran of the Army and served in the Korean War.
   He is survived by his wife, Grace Rowell, Vossburg, a son, Donald Rowell, daughter, Debra Reeves, both of Vossburg, four brothers, Stafford Rowell, Richard Rowell, Calves Rowell, Weber Rowell, all of Heidelberg, two sisters, Mildred Shockley, Waynesboro, Mary Blackman, Ellisville, and one granddaughter, Jesseca Rowell.


Mabry Gladys Breckenridge

Services for Mabry G. Breckenridge, age 81, of Biloxi, were held on October 23, 1990, at Wrights Funeral home Chapel with burial in Stonewall Cemetery. Rev. Paul Springer and Rev. James Springer officiated.
   Mrs. Breckenridge passed away on October 21, 1990, at Biloxi Regional Hospital.
   She is survived by four sons, Charles Edwin Breckenridge, Ft. Worth, Texas; Charles Leroy Breckenridge, Dothan, Ala.; Larry Daniel Breckenridge, Dothan, Ala.; Paul Scott Breckenridge, Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Mary McGowan, Raymond; Evelyn Blanchard, Biloxi; one sister, Octavia Kennedy, Stonewall; twenty grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.


Lula Mae Thornhill

Services for Lula Mae Thornhill, age 65, of Jackson, were held on October 21, 1990, at Wrights Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Anitoch Cemetery. Rev. Jake Williams officiated.
   Miss Thornhill passed away on October 19, 1990, in Jackson.
   She is survived by two brothers, Houston Thornhill, Robertsdale, Ala.; Lavelle Thornhill, Quitman; three sisters, Dorothy May, Stonewall; Merle Hultzapple, Lewes, Delaware; Betty Sherril Brengard, Anchorage, Alaska; several nieces and newphews.


Carson Avera

Services for Carson Avera, age 81, of Rt. 1 Enterprise, were held on October 20, 1990, at Fellowship Baptist Church with burial in Fellowship Cemetery. Rev. Buddy Petty and Rev. Taylor Wallace officiated. Wrights Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
   Mr. Avera passed away on October 18, 1990, at his residence.
   He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and a retiree of Flintkote.
   Mr. Avera is survived by his wife, Mattie Avera, one son, Curtis C. Avera, Enterprise; four daughters, Annie Ree Smith, Kenner, La.; Sara Griffin, Newton; Diana Flowers, Meridian; Voncile Boggan, Hickory; two brothers, Jimmy Avera, Fla.; George Avera, Quitman; four sisters, Verna Carroll, Quitman; Dessie Lenton, Meridian; Maggie Smith, Meridian; Hazel Cooksey, Petal; twenty grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.


Charlie Ward Dial

Services for Charlie W. Dial, age 65, of Rt. 3 Vossburg, were held on October 22, 1990, at Wrights Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Goodwater Cemetary. Rev. C.C. Burns officiated.
   Mr. Dial is survived by his wife, Shirley Eloise Dial; two sons, Charles Wayne Dial, Vossburg; Donald Wade Dial, Vossburg; one daughter, Shirley Marie Evans, Quitman; three sisters, Mary Weaver, Meridian; Louise Oster, Houston, Texas; Irene Oates, Prattsville, Ala.; and four grandchildren


B.K. Williamson

Military Services for B.K. Williamson, age 93, of Madison, were held on October 17, 1990, at Montgomery Memorial Chapel of Madison United Methodist Church with burial in Natchez Trace Cemetery in Madison. Norwell-Flipper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Rev. Kelly Pope and Rev. Harold Fleming officiated.
   Mr. Williamson passed away on October 16, 1990, at Veterans Administration Nursing Home in Jackson, due to heart failure.
   Mr. Williamson was born in 1896 in Clarke County. He was the son of A.V. and Mary Jensy Williamson. He served his country during WW I with Co.D-102 Infantry 26 Division AEF in France. After returning from the service, he married his childhood sweetheart, the former Minnie Anderson of Clarke County. In 1925, he moved his family to Madison County, and in his words, the prettiest place in the world. He was engaged in farming and raising cattle There he became active in church, school, and community activities. He was a devoted family man.
   Mr. B.K., as he is fondly remembered, was truly a friend of education, having been president of the Madison-Ridgeland School Board for many years. He also served on the Administrative Board of the Madison Methodist Church; member of the Men's Bible Class; American Legion; President of the Madison Farm Bureau, and a Mason.
   He is survived by his wife, Minnie, daughters, Elois Schmidt, Jackson, Athala Storment, Madison, Mary Ellen Alliston, Brandon; an adopted son, Leon Williamson, New Orleans; twelve grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren.
   Pallbearers were his grandsons. Wall Schmidt, Jr., Kirk Williamson, Mark Williamson, Richmond Alliston, Don Schmidt, Mac Williamson, Rusty Alliston, and Randy Ingram.
   Honory pallbearers were the Men's Bible Class of Madison UMC.
