Services for Mrs. Artie Smith Felts, age 83, of Meriidan Nursing Center, was held on October 31, 1991, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Stonewall Cemetery. Rev. Steve Pouncey officiated.
Mrs. Felts passed away on October 29, 1991, at Meridian Nursing Center. She was born in Clarke County.
She is survived by a step-son, Robert C. Felts, step-daughter, Delly Galtier, Lafayette, LA.; brother, G.R. Tims, Theodore, Ala.; sisters, Delia Carroll, Atlanta, GA.; Ovenia Millard, Centrevilla, VA.; and several nieces and nephews.
Maudie Roberts Griffin

Services for Maudie Roberts Griffin, age 93, of Quitman, were held on October 23, 1991, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Dr. Rex Yancey and Rev. Jerry Doggett officiated.
Mrs. Griffin passed away on October 21, 1991, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Quitman.
She is survived by three sons and daughter-in-laws, Ray and Eleanor Griffin; Lavelle and Velma Griffin, Quitman; Jim and Shirley Griffin, Ellisville; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Helen and James Smith; Sibyl and Charles Williams, Meridian; one daughter, Mrs. Faye Griffin Bruner, Meridian; one son-in-law, Mr. Sam Moore, Quitman; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Smith, Quitman and Mrs. Eva Stewart, Meridian; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clairborne Griffin, two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Griffin McLendon Evans and Mrs. Glynese Griffin Moore, one son, Mr. John Wilton Griffin and one grandson, Albert Evans.
Nora Lee Hamrick Mason

Services for Nora Lee Hamrick Mason, age 78, of Enterprise, were held on October 30, 1991, at Webb Chapel with burial in the Enterprise Cemetery. Rev. Joe Lofton officiated.
Mrs. Mason passed away on October 28, 1991, at Watkins Hospital. She was born in Enterprise.
She is survived by her son, Charles W. Mason, Jackson; one daughter, Carolyn M. Gordon, Carrollton, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Bessie Hamrick, Stonewall; Stella Young, Meridian; one brother-in-law, O.M. Mason, Lewisville, Texas; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Charlie Douglas Mason.
Serving as pallbearers were Paul Mason, Greg Mason, Doug Gordon, Johnny Nix, Dooley King and Charlie Middleton.
Marcus Edwin Burgess

Services for Marcus Edwin Burgess, age 21, of Woodville, Miss., were held on October 28, 1991, at Corinth Church of Christ with Bro. Bernard Waites and Rev. Warren Whitaker officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Woodville. Berryhill Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Burgess passed away on October 26, 1991, at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center in Baton Rouge as a result of injuries sustained that day in an automobile accident on Highway 61, south of Woodville earlier that day.
He was born on August 13, 1970, in Waynesboro, Miss. A college student recently attending the University of Mississippi, he had joined the U.S. Navy and was to report for duty in March 1992.
He is survived by his parents, Douglas and Joyce McGowan of Woodville; two sisters, Christy Lynn McGowan, Leigh Ann McGowan, both of Woodville; his grandparents, Mrs. Jean McGowan of Vossburg and Mrs. Edwina Dobson and Mr. E.C. Dobson, both of Waynesboro.
Pallbearers were Ken Jensen, Robert Whitehead, Eric Hinton, William Littleton, Bryant Whitehead, Nathan Gardner, Keith Smith and David Sumrall.
