Louise McCarty

Services for Miss Louise McCarty, age 87, of Route 3, Quitman, were held August 7, 1990, at McGowans Chapel Methodist Church with Wright's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial was at McGowans Chapel Cemetery.
   Miss McCarty passed away August 5, 1990, at H.C. Watkins Hospital.
   She is survived by her brother, I.H. McCarty, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four sisters, Kate Lee Waddell, Hattiesburg; Mary Walker, Hattiesburg; Ruth Kean, Hattiesburg; Sarah McCarty, New Orleans, La., and numerous nieces and nephews.
   Miss McCarty was a native of Clarke County. She was a long time educator and a graduate of the University of Alabama. She served in the teaching profession for 41 years including Indianola and Jackson County schools and as elementary supervisor in Clarke County until her retirement.
   A high ranking DAR officer for many years, she was an active member of the Sam Dale Chapter in Meridian. She served as State Chaplin, State Second Vice Regent and State District Director.
   Miss McCarty also served as past Regent of Sam Dale Chapter in Meridian and Past President of Colonial Danes of America, Chapter 15. She participated in many civic, charitable, and philanthropic activities. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church.


Doris Mae Ethel Davis

Services for Doris Mae Ethel Davis, age 67, of Route 4, Quitman, were held August 6, 1990, at Pine Grove Baptist Church, with Wright's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery.
   Mrs. Davis passed away August 4, 1990, at her residence.
   Mrs. Davis is survived by one son, Samuel Davis, Columbus, one grandson, Joseph Davis, Columbus, and several nieces and nephews.


Ruth Daniels McArthur

Services for Mrs. Ruth Daniels McArthur of Columbia, S.C., were held July 25, 1990.
   She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Benjo and Sarah Harris, both of Columbia, S.C.; two sisters, Lillie Gerald of Buckner, MO, and Corrie Daniels of Quitman.


Addie Lee Tims

Services for Addie Lee Tims, age 97, of Rt. 6 Meridian were held August 4, 1990, at Bucatunna Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Braddock officiating. Wright's Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Burial was at Bucatunna cemetery.
   Mrs. Tims passed away August 2, 1990, at Rush Hospital.
   She is survived by three daughters, Leola Robinson, Reitha Davidson and Mae Davidson, all of Meridian; one sister, Cora Gilbert of Quitman; 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.


Jimmy Harold Newburn

Services for Jimmy Harold Newburn, age 47, of Quitman were held August 2, 1990, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Duval officiating.
   Mr. Newburn passed away July 31, 1990, at his residence.
   He is survived by four sons, Tracey Newburn, Stacy Newburn, Kenny Newburn and J.J. Newburn, all of Quitman; one daughter, Michelle Adams of Lake Wells, FL; his step-father and mother, John and Mattie Pugh of Quitman; one brother, Boyde Newburn of Waynesboro; four sisters, Christine Mancheck, Virginia Fuller and Wilma Dearman, all of Quitman, and Paulette Tucker of Shubuta; and four grandchildren.


Harmon Dewey Sanders

Services for Harmon Dewey Sanders, age 61, of Rt. 2 Enterprise were held August 4, 1990, at Souenlovie Baptist Church with Rev. Parker Chancellor and Rev. C.C. Burns officiating. Wright's Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Burial was at the church cemetery.
   Mr. Sanders passed away August 2, 1990, at Riley's Hospital.
   He is survived by his wife, Nina Sanders of Enterprise; three sons, Gerald Sanders of Enterprise, Tommy Sanders of Lake, MS, and Skeet Sanders of Pachuta; three daughters, Mrs. Betty Touchstone, Mrs. Karen Benefield, both of Enterprise, and Mrs. Denise Davis of Waynesboro; three brothers, Robert Sanders and Bill Sanders, both of Meridian, and Clyde Sanders of Bosier City, LA; one sister, Mrs. Erma Pewitt of Nunalee, Tenn.; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
