Services for Annie Lee Burgess, age 72, of Rt. 2 Shubuta, were held on March 27, 1992, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Hepzibah Cemetery. Dr. Shaw Gaddy officiated.
Mrs. Burgess passed away on March 23, 1992, at Riley's Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Kernie Burgess, Shubuta; one son, Roy Wayne Burgess, Germany; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Lafferty and Mrs. Charlotte Cooley, both of Shubuta; two brothers, N.B. Manning, Shubuta; Cecil Manning, Laurel; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Bertha Campbell Mathis

Graveside services for Bertha Campbell Mathis, age 91, of Quitman, were held on March 25, 1992, at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Marcus Peagler officiated.
Ms. Mathis passed away on March 24, 1992, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Malcolm G. Ward, Sr.

Services for Malcolm G. Ward, Sr., age 82, of Monroe, was held March 27, at Covenant Presbyterian Church with burial in the Enterprise Cemetery, Enterprise. Rev. John T. Mabray officiated. Mulhearn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ward passed away on March 26, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center of natural causes.
Mr. Ward was born in Enterprise, but lived in Monroe for the past fifty-four years. He was an Elder in the Covenant Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of WW II.
He is survived by his wife, Jean A. Ward; sons, M.G. Ward, Jr., and wife, Judy Temple Ward of Ruston, La.; Aub A. Ward and wife, Francies Smith Ward of Baton Rouge and Robert I. Ward and wife, Noryn A. Ward of Baton Rouge; sister, Mildred Ward of Washington, D.C.; stepmother, Ruby Ward Guest of Enterprise, Ms.; grandsons, Lance A. Ward of Ruston, La.; Aub N. Ward, U.S. Army of Wiesbaden, Germany and Grayson M. Ward of Baton Rouge.
