Orville Fairchild

Services for Orville Fairchild, age 78, of Quitman were held on January 8, 1992, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. John Edwards and Rev. Arlis Nichols officiated.
   Mr. Fairchild passed away on January 6, 1992, at the Methodist Hospital in Hattiesburg.
   He drove a truck for Gulf Oil for fourteen years before going into the restaurant business. He owned and operated a restaurant in Quitman for many years and also served Clarke County as a deputy sheriff for a number of years.
   Mr. Fairchild is survived by his wife, Mrs. Leana P. Fairchild, Quitman; one daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Weiss, Jackson; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Mary Daughterty; Mrs. Auline Preston, Quitman; two grandchildren, Don Weiss, Jackson; and Bryan Weiss, Mobile, Ala. Several nieces and nephews.


Richard F. Mullett

Richard F. Mullett, age 70, of Prairie Village, died January 5, 1992, at home.
   Mr. Mullett was a residential sales representative for the J.C. Nichols Co., from 1968 until he retired in 1980. Earlier he was purchasing manager for the Long-Bell Lumber Co. He was the first president of the executive board of the Cancer Hotline, was active with the Cancer Golf Classic and was a former member of the Johnson County Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
   He was an Eagle Scout and was former president of the Hoo-Hoo Lumber Association. He received a bachelor's degree in marketing, merchandising and accounting from the University of Mississippi in 1947. He was former president of the Ole Miss Alumni and Sigma Nu Alumni of Kansas City. He was former president of the Prairie Hills Homes Association.
   He was a member of the Country Club United Methodist Church and its administrative board and Meriwed class. He was a past member of the Greater Kansas Chamber of Commerce and its Presidents Club. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was born in Quitman, Miss., and had lived in this area since 1947.
   Survivors include his wife, Ann Mullett; three sons, Fred Mullett, Seattle; David Mullett, Houston; and John Mullett, Leawood; his mother, Marguerite Kirkland, Quitman; two brothers, Robert H. Mullett, Prairie Village; and William L. Mullett, Dunedin, Fla.; a stepbrother, J.K. Kirkland; a stepsister, Elizabeth McLendon, both of Quitman; and two grandchildren.
   Memorial services were held at Newcomer's Overland Park Chapel; private burial in Elmwood Cemetery. The family requested no flowers and suggests contributions to Cancer Action, Inc., the Kansas City Hospice, the church or the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.


Howard Houston Chatham

Services for Howard Houston Chatham, age 68, of Rose Hill, were held on January 13, 1992, at Wright's Funeral Home chapel with burial in the Green Valley Cemetery. Rev. John West officiated.
   Mr. Chatham passed away on January 11, 1992 at his residence.
   He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Chatham, Rose Hill; two sons, Eric Chatham and Dennis H. Chatham, Rose Hill, one daughter, Mrs. Marcia Everett, Hickory; one sister, Mrs. Frances Traylor, Jackson; five grandchildren.


Angie B. Dearman

Services for Angie B. Dearman, age 95, of Stonewall, were held on January 15, 1992, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Stonewall Cemetery. Rev. Albert McMullan and Rev. Jake Williams officiated.
   Mrs. Dearman passed away on January 13, 1992, at H.C. Watkins Hospital.
   She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Flowers, Stonewall; Mrs. Lola Lois Williams, Quitman; Mrs. Amanda Joyce Jones, Meridian; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
