James Allen Dabbs

Services for James Allen Dabbs, age 76, were held Saturday, January 25, 1992, at 1:00 p.m. at Harper-Morris Chapel with burial in the Bay View Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida. Mr. Dabbs passed away on Thursday, January 23, 1992, in a local hospital from a heart attack.
   James Allen was a native of Quitman. His grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. John Larkin Arrington and Mr. and Mrs. John S. Dabbs (nee: Addie Sumrall Dabbs). He had been a resident of Pensacola for many years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He retired after four years with Hygeia Bottling Company of Pensacola - the Coca Cola Bottling Company.
   Survivors include his wife, Katherine; daughter and son-in-law, Kaye and Dan Stove; mother, Bessie A. Dabbs; sisters, Addie Merchant Acosta and Lucille Thompson; grandchildren, Reed and Holly Stove, all from Pensacola.
   James Allen was preceded in death by his father, Dick Dabbs.


Arthur Turner

Services for Arthur Turner, age 69, of Quitman, were held on Febraury 1, 1992, at Brightwater Methodist Church with burial in the Brightwater Cemetery. Rev. James Irby and Rev. Lamar Turner officiated.
   Mr. Turner passed away on January 29, 1992, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian.
   He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethel M. Turner, Quitman; and several nieces and nephews.


Inez Howington

Mrs. Inez Howington of the Tuxedo Community in Meridian, passed away on January 19, at Crossgates Manor Nursing Home in Jackson.
   She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Montagene Grayson of Quitman and Mrs. Christine Woodall, of Jackson; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, her granddaughter and a great-grandson.
   Burial was in the Pleasant grove Cemetery in Litle Rock, Miss.


Winnie Elizabeth Belcher

Services for Winnie Elizabeth Belcher, age 90, of Quitman, were held on February 4, 1992, at Rolling Creek Baptist Church with burial in the Rolling Creek Cemetery. Rev. Billy Brumfield officiated.
   Mrs. Belcher passed away on February 2, 1992, at H.C. Watkins Hospital.
   She is survived by two sons, Billy Ray Belcher, Escatawpa, Ms.; Jackie Belcher, Quitman; a son-in-law, Ernest Smith; one sister, Velma Dority, Stonewall; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Belcher, daughter, Inez Smith; and a grandson, Wayne Smith.
   Wright's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
