Funeral services for Benjamin Thomas Ivey, 80, of Rt. 1, Danville, Ga., were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Walters Funeral Home Chapel in Quitman with Rev. Jake Williams officiating. Interment was in the Covington Cemetery.
Mr. Ivey died at the Athens General Hospital in Athens, Ga., Friday.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Ivy of Pennsylvania and Mrs. Lillie Rhoden of Athens, Ga.; four sons, J.T. Ivey of Pennsylvania, Benny Ivey of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Cletus Ivey of Panama City, Fla., and Houston Ivey of Metarie, La.; five sisters, Mrs. Charlie Cox and Mrs. Ophelia Ivy, both of Quitman, Mrs. Corett Ivy of Washington, D.C., and Mrs. Willie Quimby and Mrs. Ola Taylor, both of Meridian; two brothers, Henry Ivey of Quitman and Shelby Ivey of Pascagoula; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
