Samuel Monroe Dew (1873-1966)

Samuel Monroe Dew was born on 26 July 1873 in Mississippi. He died on 26 December 1966 in Quitman, Clarke, Mississippi. He is buried in Covington Cemetery in Quitman, Clarke, Mississippi. He married Addie Evie Rilla Taylor on 25 June 1911 in Clarke, Mississippi. He married Lizzie Mae Hall Baker on 11 September 1915 in Clarke, Mississippi.

Samuel Monroe Dew passed away Dec. 26 at the age of 93. Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 29, at 11:00 a.m., at Walters Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Johnny Mosley officiating. Interment was in Covington Cemetery.
   Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Mae Dew; six daughters, Mrs. Lula Mae Doherth, Vidalia, Ga., Mrs. Eula Mae Nixon, and Mrs. Bessie Lewis, of Stonewall, Mrs. Essie Mars and Mrs. Ruth Fleming, of Quitman, Mrs. Daisey Cranford, Glascon, Mont.; two sons, Curtis Dew, Corona, Calif., S. W. Dew, Quitman; 26 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
