Billy Clark Dotson

Services for Billy Clark Dotson were held on June 24, 1993, at Rolling Creek Baptist Church with burial in the Rolling Creek Cemetery. Rev. Billy Brumfield officiated.
   Mr. Dotson, age 50, of Umatilla, Florida, passed away on June 20, 1993, at a Florida hospital.
   Survivors include his wife, Betty Dotson, Umatilla, FL; two sons, John Clark Dotson and Jeb Dotson, both of Umatilla; mother, Edna Dotson, Enterprise; four brothers, Jimmy Dotson, Gunnison, Colorado; Robert W. Dotson, Auburn, AL; Clyde R. Dotson, Clewiston, FL; Danny S. Dotson, Crawfordville, FL; and one sister, Mary E. Dotson, Tallahassee, FL.


John B. Brand

Services for John B. Brand were held on June 26, 1993, at First Methodist Protestant Church in Laurel with burial in the Hickory Grove Cemetery. Rev. Charlie Joe Green and Rev. Paul Edwards officiated.
   Mr. Brand, age 93, of Laurel, passed away on June 25, 1993, at South Regional Medical Center in Laurel.
   Survivors include one son, Hershall Brand, Mobile, AL; one daughter, Shannon Holder, Laurel; one brother, Charles Brand, Fayette, AL; two sisters, Mrs. Nora Plunkett, Yazoo City, and Mildred Jenkins; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.


Michael Brent Oglesby

Services for Michael Brent Oglesby were held June 26, 1993, at Stonewall United Methodist Church with burial in the Stonewall Cemetery. Rev. Clay Chancellor and Rev. Buddy Braddock officiated.
   Mr. Oglesby, age 19, of Stonewall, passed away on June 24, 1993, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian.
   Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Deloris H. Oglesby, Stonewall; three brothers, Timmy Harper, Heidelberg; Danny Harper, Stonewall and Randy Oglesby, Meridian; paternal grandmother, Lottie Oglesby, Stonewall; one niece, Brittany Harper; two nephews, Bradley Harper and Kyle Oglesby; and a host of uncles and aunts.


Willie Capers McAdams

Graveside services for Mr. Willie McAdams were held on June 25, 1993, at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery with Rev. Bob Powell officiating.
   Mr. McAdams, age 78, of Star Route, Shubuta, was a World War II veteran. He passed away on June 18, 1993, in the VA Hospital in Jackson.
   Survivors include two brothers, Frank McAdams, Quitman, and Clyde McAdams, Star Route, Shubuta; and several nieces and nephews.


Robert Leon Harris

Services for Robert Leon Harris were held on June 19, 1993 with burial in the Amite Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Terry Booth officiated.
   A native of Carmichael, Mr. Harris, age 65, of Denham Springs, LA, passed away on June 17, 1993, at the Medical Center in Baton Rouge.
   He was a member of Local 198 and a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II.
   Survivors include his wife of forty-four years, Nellie Porterfield Harris, Denham Springs; mother, Gertrude Fleming Harris; a daughter, Sharon D. Criswell, Pensacola, FL; three sons, Robert B.; Ralph L., and David Lee Harris, all of Denham Springs; a sister, Helen H. Lucas, Carmichael; a brother James A. Harris, Inez, TX; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
   He was preceded in death by his father, James Harris. Pallbearers were David Harris, JR., Hank Smith, Brice Criswell, Willie Goodson, Billy Cavin, Robert Chandler, and Frank Lewis. He was a member of Amite Baptist Church, Denham Springs.


Evelyn Louise Simpson

Services for Evelyn Louise Simpson were held on June 28, 1993, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the DeSoto Cemetery.
   Mrs. Simpson, age 65, of Laurel, passed away on June 26, 1993, at the Methodist Hospital in Hattiesburg.
   Survivors include three sons, Joseph Lawrence Longoria, Laurel; Kenneth Wilson Simpson, Katy, TX; and James Jeff Simpson, Laurel; one daughter, Miss Katherine Michelle Simpson, Laurel; one brother, Mr. Julian Lawrence, Shreveport, LA; and seven grandchildren.


Mary Etta "Mimmie" Covington

Mrs. Covington, age 88, of Stonewall, died Sunday, June 27, 1993, at Archusa Convalescent Center.
   Services were held June 29, 1993, at the chapel of Wright's Funeral Home with Dr. Albert H. McMullen officiating. Burial will be at the Stonewall Cemetery.
   Mrs. Covington was an employee of Burlington Industries in Stonewall for over forty years.
  She is survived by two daughters, Gearldine Pittman of Stonewall and Myra Spivey of Augusta, GA; one son, Tommy Ray Covington of Stonewall; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Evan Ray Tindle of Sterns, KY; and a number of nieces and nephews.
   Mrs. Covington is preceded in death by her husband, Cenia Turner Covington and a daughter, Vaudie Dunnam.


Robert Franklin Sheaffer

Services for Robert Franklin Sheaffer were held on June 27, 1993, at Oak Grove Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Billy Whitaker officiated.
   Mr. Sheaffer, age 66, of Shubuta, passed away on June 25, 1993, at the VA Medical Center in Biloxi.
   Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary J. Sheaffer, Shubuta; three sons, Mr. Paul Stephens, Shubuta; Mr. Bruce Sheaffer, Lakewood, CA; and Mr. Robert Franklin Sheaffer, Jr., of Fresno, CA; two daughters, Mrs. Sandra Bourgeault, Kennewick, WA; and Mrs. Gail Sheaffer, Lakewood, CA; one brother, Mr. Ralph Sprauge, Dawagina, MI; one sister, Mrs. Mary Tallhammer, Elyria, OH; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
