Graveside services for Willie Mae Waldrup were held March 28, 1993, at Odd Fellows Cemetery with Dr. R. Leake officiating.
Mrs. Waldrup, age 98, of Rest Haven Nursing Home in Bogalusa, LA, passed on March 27, 1993, at Rest Haven Nursing Home.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. Glenn Waldrup, Bogalusa, LA; and Larry Waldrup, Huntsville, AL; three daughters, Lurlean DeLaughter, Picayune, MS; Emma Pippen, Jackson; and Mary Smith, Clarksdale; thirteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
Magia Wayne Hearns

Services for Magia Wayne Hearns were held March 12, 1993, at Solomon Temple Baptist Church with burial in the Oak View Memorial Park, Antioch, CA. Rev. Dr. P. N. Sumpter officiated.
Mr. Hearns, age 54, passed away on March 7, 1993, at Los Medanos Community Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Magia grew up in Quitman and attended school there and graduated from the Shirley-Owens Vocational School. After graduation, Magia was employed with the Bud Patton Ford Dealership in Quitman. As a young man of twenty, he moved to Pittsburg, CA, where he united with the Solomon Baptist Church, under the pastorage of Rev. Dr. M. T. Thompson and continued under the pastorage of Rev. P. N. Sumpter.
"Magic", as he was lovingly called by family and friends, was self-employed for thirty-three years as an auto mechanic until his health failed him.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; one daughter, Janice Hearns-Johnson; two sons, Tommy and Lu-Magia; three brothers, Rev. Lummie Hearns, Edward and Johnnie Hearns, both of Quitman; two sisters, Katie Mays and Annie Scarbough, both of Quitman; special cousins, Thomas and Dorothy Turner, Sacramento, CA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were: Stanley Warren, Sidney Portis, Sylvester Warren, Kevin Moffett, Robert Portis, and Jim Jubrey. Honorary Pallbearers were: Thomas Turner, Will Moss, Johnnie Hearns, Edward Hearns and Danny Guys.
