Rubye Boyd Evans

Services for Rubye Boyd Evans were held on July 16, 1994, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Salem Cemetery. Rev. Terry Steppe officiated.
   Mrs. Evans, age 78, of Petal, formerly of Rt. 2 Shubuta, died July 14, 1994, at Petal Convalescent Rest Home.
   Survivors include a son, Danny Evans, Petal; daughter-in-law, Bettye Sue Evans; a brother, George Boyd, Jackson, TN; a sister, Mary Hart, Lexington, TN; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.


William Thomas Harris

Services for William Thomas Harris were held on July 17, 1994, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Pine Grove Cemetery. Rev. Buddy Braddock and Rev. J. W. Ivey officiated.
   Mr. Harris, age 69, of Quitman, died July 15, 1994, his residence.
   Survivors include a daughter, Tommie Ann Broome, Moss Point; two sisters, Ruby Kemp, Quitman and Thelma Thomas, Bossier City, LA; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.


Elizabeth Hailes Smith

Elizabeth Hailes Smith, 71, a homemaker, died July 13, 1994, at her home in Carthage, of cancer.
   Services were held on July 15, 1994, at Wilcox Funeral Home and burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
   Mrs. Smith grew up in her native Quitman and lived many years in Pine Mountain, GA, where she worked for Calloway Gardens.
   Survivors include her husband, Edward; daughter, Jeana K. Blailock of Slidell, LA; mother, Mae B. Hailes, Quitman; sisters, Kathy Oates of Bay Springs, and Carolyn Green of Jackson; brother, Thomas J. Hailes, Jr., of Quitman and one granddaughter.


Brooks Avery Lewis, Jr.

Services for Brooks Avery Lewis, Jr., were held on Tuesday, July 19, 1994, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Pachuta Cemetery. Rev. Joe Lofton and Rev. Julius Harbison officiated.
   Mr. Lewis, age 63, of Pine Street, Pachuta, died July 17, 1994, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood, MS.
   Survivors include his wife, Dorothy J. Lewis, Pachuta; two sons, Charles Avery Lewis, Greenwood, MS; and Larry Lee Lewis, Pachuta; and two sisters, Joan Wells and Bonnie Woodrick, both of Knoxville, TN; and one grandson, Chad Davis Lewis, Knoxville, TN.
