Services for Ruby Leavy were held on July 17, 1994, at Old Oak Grove Baptist Church with burial in the Elwood Cemetery.
Sis Leavy was born August 15, 1896 in Tchula, MS. She was the third of five children born to Andrew and Mary Murry.
She died July 14, 1994.
Sis Leavy confessed a hope in Christ in 1910 under the fellowship of Rev. C.C. Johnson at Rose Bank M. B. Church in Tchula, MS.
She married Anthony Moore and to this union three children were born. A daughter, Mildred Hogan preceded her in death.
Sis Leavy leaves to cherish her memory two very devoted daughters, Dora Gates and Mary Watts, Quitman; a sister, Rosie Jordan, Yazoo City; three grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Horace William Green

Services for Horace William Green were held on July 22, 1994, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Goodwater Cemetery. Rev. Pete Shirley officiated.
Mr. Green, 86, of Riley Nursing Center, died July 18, 1994, at Riley's Hospital in Meridian.
Survivors include four sons, W. G. Green, North Carolina; Eugene Green, Florida; Tommy Green and Paul Green, both of Laporte, TX; five daughters, Myrtle Green, Oklahoma City, OK; Mary Hillberbrant, Conroe, TX; Betty Green, Geraldine Green and Juanita Green, all of Houston, TX; and a sister, Lillian McKee, Huffman, TX.
Billy Jo Waltman

Services for Billy Jo Waltman were held on July 26, 1994, at Webb Chapel with burial in the Magnolia Cemetery. Dr. Lee Berg, Rev. Horace Choate and Rev. Parker Chancellor officiated.
Mr. Waltman, 55, of Meridian, died July 23, 1994, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maggie Hall Waltman of Meridian; two sons, Billy J. Waltman and George E. Waltman, both of Quitman; a daughter, Jo Ann Waltman Jones, Pensacola, FL; two grandchildren, Damon Burton Jones, Pensacola and Billy James Waltman II of Quitman; seven sisters, Dot Schmid, Union; Sarah "Cat" Galaspy, Kosciusko; Mary Sullivan; Shirley Ann Goodin; Susie Mooney; and Bonnie Stevens, all of Philadelphia; and Bobbie Faye Lockey, Hamlet, NC; two brothers, James Carson Waltman and Tony Waltman, both of Philadelphia.
Mr. Waltman was born in Neshoba County and was a retired minister and member of the First Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Philadelphia.
Beulah King Dobbs

Services for Beulah King Dobbs were held July 24, 1994, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Hebron Ridge Cemetery. Rev. Pete Shirley and Rev. T. R. Darsey officiated.
Mrs. Dobbs, age 80, of 1421 74th Ave. Meridian, died July 22, 1994.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Margie Lott, Quitman and Mrs. Bobbie Boone, Meridian; a brother, Mr. Lee King, Demopolis, AL; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mrs. Pearl Hamrick.
John Alton Southern

John Alton Southern, age 64 of Lillington, N.C., a native of Clarke County, Ms., died July 22, 1994 at St. Mary Hospital, Columbus, Ga.
Survived by his wife Eillene Southern, three sons, five daughters, thirteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild; two brothers, Acie Southern, Foley, Al., J. B. Southern, Harlengen, Tx.; two sisters, Elizabeth Tims, Quitman, Alberta Busby, Stonewall, and numerous nieces and nephews.
