Martin M. Long

Services for Martin M. Long were held December 5, 1994, at the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe with Dr. Lee McGlone officiating. Burial was in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
   Mr. Long, 77, of Monroe, and formerly of Meridian, died December 2, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe after a brief illness.
   Mr. Long was a member of Parkview Baptist Church and retired from General Foods Inc., in 1980 and after 33 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, a Mason and a Shriner.
   Survivors include his wife Wilma Norris Long of Monroe, LA; and formerly of Quitman; his son and daughter-in-law, Tammy and Mark Phillips, West Monroe, LA; two grandsons, Michael and Steven Long, both of Houston, TX; a brother, A. G. Long, Natchez; a sister, Norma Jean Long, Jackson, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
   Pallbearers were Luke Coonrod, Jimmy Lamb, David Stone, Andy Linton, B.J. Carlton, Chappie Chapman, Frank Forwood and Billy Moore.


Patricia "Darlene" Middleton

Services for Patricia "Darlene" Middleton were held December 24, 1994, at Pleasant Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in the Archusa Memorial Gardens. Rev. Mark Thead officiated.
   Mrs. Middleton, 37, of Colorado Springs, CO, died December 19, 1994, in Colorado Springs.
   Survivors include her husband, Dean Edward Middleton; a son, Scott E. Middleton; two daughters, Ashley N. Middleton and Kimberly A. Middleton, all of Colorado Springs; father, William P. Jordan, Quitman; mother and step-father, Velma Irene McGrew and Cecil McGrew, Quitman; a brother, James T. Jordan, Quitman; two step-brothers, Marshal McGrew, Quitman; Tom Combs, Fayetteville, NC; and paternal grandmother, Ella Denham, Stonewall.


William Etell Allen

Services for William Etell Allen were held December 22, 1994, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Stonewall Cemetery. Rev. Bernice Fleming and Rev. Broxie Hardesty officiated.
   Mr. Allen, 85, of Stonewall, died December 20, 1994, at his residence.
   Survivors include his wife, Ethel Allen, Stonewall; two sons, Edward E. Allen, Stonewall; Mr. Donnie Allen, Brandon, MS; two sisters, Ila Downs, and Mamie Roberts, both of Stonewall; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.


Macie Lee Caraway

Graveside services for Macie Lee Caraway were held December 24, 1994, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Mosley officiating.
   Mrs. Caraway, 82, of Poplarville, MS, died December 23, 1994, at Pearl River Medical Center in Poplarville.
   Survivors include two sons, Hardy Caraway, Quitman and Bryant Caraway, Poplarville; six step-sons; a daughter, Earlene Harwell, Pascagoula; one step-daughter; a sister, Ruby Wilderson, Meridian; and a grandson, Steven Harwell.


Merle Yvonne Turner

Services for Merle Yvonne Turner were held December 27, 1994, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Center Ridge Cemetery. Dr. Wayne Riley and Rev. James Irby officiated.
   Mrs. Turner, 56, died December 24, 1994, at her residence.
   Survivors include a husband, Willard J. Turner, Meridian; a son, Michael Turner, Meridian; three daughters, Melinda Broadhead and Lisa Morgan, both of Meridian; Gaye Winkler, Groton, Conn.; a mother, Vester Home, Meridian; and a sister, Ouida Isabell Landry, Baton Rouge, LA; and six grandchidlren.
