William Robert Underwood

Services for William Robert (Billy) Underwood were held on May 25, 1994, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
   Mr. Underwood, age 72, of Quitman, died May 23, 1994, at H.C. Watkins Hospital.
   Survivors include his wife, Sara Underwood, Quitman; four sons, William R. (Bob) Underwood, Fremont, CA; David Underwood, Concord, CA; Richard Dennis Underwood, Vicksburg; and Thomas D. Underwood, Quitman; one daughter, Daria Norris, Quitman; four brothers, Bobby Underwood, Harvey Underwood, John Henry Underwood, all of Quitman; George Underwood, Stonewall; two sisters, Margie Carney, Meridian and Lenora Robinson, Quitman; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.


A. J. (Jack) Dandridge

Graveside services for A.J. (Jack) Dandridge were held May 26, 1994, at the Stonewall Cemetery. Rev. C.A. Farmer officiated.
   Mr. Dandridge, age 73, of Quitman, died May 24, 1994, at Archusa Convalescent Center.
   Survivors include his wife, Elsa Dandridge, Stonewall; one son, Curtis V. Dandridge, Stonewall; three daughters, Jackie Albritton, Waynesboro; Shelia D. Johnson and Barbara Pugh, both of Stonewall; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
   He was preceded in death by one grandchild, John Dale Sisson, Jr.


Mary L. McCree

Services for Mary L. McCree were held May 26, 1994, at Turner Chapel in Quitman with burial in the Bethel Cemetery. Rev. Charles Goodman officiated.
   Mrs. McCree, age 73, of Quitman, died May 20, 1994, at her residence. She was a homemaker.
   Survivors include five sons, Willie B. Stokes, Charlie McCree, Jr., Robert E. McCree, Richard R. McCree, Quitman; L.V. McCree, Vista, CA; a daughter, Mary L. Sumrall, Quitman; brother, Frank Lang, Quitman; three sisters, Canzetta McLeod, Quitman; Frannie Dennis, Prichard, AL; and Ethel Long, Meridian.


Charles Gilbert Boone

Mr. Charles Gilbert Boone, 85, of 748 West Kathy Circle, died Sunday, June 5, 1994, of heart failure at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center.
   Funeral services are 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 8, 1994, at First United Methodist Church in Canton with interment in Canton Cemetery.
   A native of Clarke County, Mr. Boone lived in Canton for thirty-eight years. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University and a member of the MSU Alumni Association. Mr. Boone was County Extension Agent for Madison County until his retirement in 1974. He was honored with state and national Distinguished Service Awards by the State Extension Agents and the National Association of County Agents. Mr. Boone was a member of Farm Bureau and Canton Rotary Club and had served on the Administrative Board of First United Methodist Church.
   Mr. Boone was preceded in death by his grandson, Will Cooper.
   Survivors include his wife, Alma Booth Boone of Canton; daughters, Charlyne Shackleford, Metarie, LA; and Martha Cooper, Morton; brothers, Norman Boone, Brookhaven, and Albert Green, Laurel; sister, Bonnie Parker, Sumrall; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
