Emma L. Horner (1880-1951)

Emma L. Horner was born in March 1880 in New Jersey. She died in December 1951 in Camden, Camden, New Jersey. She married Charles Ditlefson Whitton on 24 May 1899 in Camden, Camden, New Jersey.

Mrs. Emma L. Whitton, 71, widow of the late Rev. Charles D. Whitton, died Thursday in her home, 322 North Thirty-sixth street, following a long illness. She was a member of Bethel Methodist Church. Her husband, who died in 1946, was former superintendent of the Bridgeton District of the Methodist Church and for 22 years was president of the West Jersey Grove Meetings. He served charged in Haddon Heights, Westmont, Atlantic City and Hightstown. Mrs. Whitton is survived by a sister, Miss Minnie R. Horner; two brothers, Lemuel D. and John M. Horner, all of Camden. Services will be at a funeral home at Thirty-sixth street and Westfield avenue Monday at 2 p.m., where friends may call Monday night. Burial, in Bethel cemetery, Pennsauken township, will be under the direction of Warren R. Parker.
