The News Journal, 17 Sept 1973Joseph Brown, 86, of 634 Ferris St., Wilmington, died yesterday at the Delaware State Hospital after a short illness.He was a lifelong resident of Wilmington. He was a machinist for the Baker-Layton Co., Wilmington for 50 years before retiring 20 years ago. His wife, Ella H. Brown, died in 1957.Survivors include a son, William T. Brown of Caravelle Farms, Bear; two daughters, Mrs. Hattie E. Williams of Wilmington, and Mrs. Ella Hahn of Easton, Pa.; two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.Services will be Wednesday afternoon at 2 at the Silverbrook United Methodist Church, 2205 Lancaster Ave. Friends may call at the McCrery Memorial Chapel, Kirkwood Highway and Duncan Road, Tomorrow night. Interment will be in Silverbrook Memorial Park.
