Franky Joe Pogue

Service for Franky Joe Pogue were held July 21, 1995, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Sanders officiated.
   Mr. Pogue, 61, of Quitman, died July 19, 1995, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
   Survivors include his wife, Edna Pogue, Quitman; four daughters, Linda King, Quitman; Joanne Waller, Meridian; Sandra Kerr, Pensacola, FL; and Mary Beth Pogue, Quitman; three brothers, Leonard Pogue, Meridian; Mack Pogue, Meridian; and Jack Pogue, Quitman; two sisters, Clarice Davis and Margaret Watkins, both of Meridian; and seven grandchildren.


Irvin Clifford Hicks, Sr.

Services for Irvin Clifford Hicks, Sr., were held July 21, 1995, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Jasper County. Rev. Buddy Petty officiated.
   Mr. Hicks, 77, of Rose Hill, died July 19, 1995, at his residence.
   He was a member of Homewood Methodist Church and a veteran of World War II. He was an employee of the ASCS office in Bay Springs for 44 years, and employed with the Enterprise School District for 21 years, and also, was a lifelong farmer.
   Survivors include his wife, Minnie Herrington Hicks, Rose Hill; two sons, Cliff Hicks and William Hicks, both of Rose Hill; four daughters, Elaine Porter, Rose Hill; Pam Cooper, Rose Hill; Linda Kay Kyle, Enterprise and Fanny Dotson, Enterprise; two sisters, Effie L. Odom, Meridian; and Ena Sisson, Pachuta; and a brother, Lenard L. Hicks, Bonsall, CA.


Alton Glynn Land, Sr.

Services for Alton Glynn Land, Sr., was held July 22, 1995, at 3:00 p.m. at Gilbertown United Methodist Church with the Revs. Warren Coile, Reba Wylie and Marc Hobbs officiating. Barham Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Gilbertown Cemetery in Gilbertown, Alabama, with Phillips Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
   Mr. Land, 84, of Meridian, died Friday, July 21, 1995, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
   Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Land Smith, Citronelle, Ala.; a son, Alton G. "Al" Land, Jr., Meridian; son-in-law, Tommy G. Smith, Citronelle, Ala.; daughter-in-law, Beth Green Land, Meridian; two sisters, Annie Ruth Stroud, Ozark, Ala.; and Inez Cobb, Demopolis, Ala.; a brother, Claude Land, Pensacola, Fla; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
