Robert Henry Moore Osborn was born on 25 May 1907 in Colorado. He died on 19 February 1988 in Christiana, New Castle, Delaware. He is buried in Wilmington & Brandywine Cemetery in Wilmington, New Castle, Delaware. He married Florence Mildred Hey on 14 February 1931 in Edgemont, Fall River, South Dakota. He married Evelyn Mary Haislett on 20 January 1939 in Wilmington, New Castle, Delaware.

Robert H. Osborn, 80, of 1311 Oberlin Road, Green Acres, died Friday in Christiana Hospital.

   Mr. Osborn worked at Hercules Inc. for 32 years, retiring as a research physicist in 1970. After that, he taught at Sanford School until 1973 and tutored homebound students in the Mount Pleasant School District.

   In 1963, Mr. Osborn was named regional counselor for Delaware by the American Association of Physics Teachers and the American Institute of Physics. He worked with educational authorities to improve the quality of high school physics teaching.

   He received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from South Dakota School of Mines &  Technology in 1929. He earned his master's in physics in 1936 and a Ph.D. in physics in 1939 from the University of Pittsburgh.

   He was a master Mason and a 50-year member of Eureka Lodge 23, AF&AM.

   He is survived by his wife, Evelyn M.; and a son, David R. of Hendersonville, Tenn.

   Private services and burial were Monday.
