Viola Carney

Services for Viola Carney were held August 30, 1995, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Antioch Cemetery. Rev. Jim Arnold officiated.
   Mrs. Carney, 77, of Butler, AL, died August 28, 1995, at Riley Hospital.
   Survivors include two sons, Robert Carney and J. C. Carney, both of Hinton, AL; six daughters, Evon Lambert, Betty Jenkins and Billie Smith, all of Quitman; Annie Coody, Gilbertown; Doris Bell and Myrtle Carney, both of Hinton, AL; three brothers, Floyd Carney, Red Springs, N.C.; Roland Haney, Follette, Texas; and Woodrow Haney, Meridian; two sisters, Lillie Jenkins, Needham, AL; and Velma Godwin, Snell; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Josh Carney and a grandchild, Eric Lucas.


Ruth Jewell English

Services for Ruth Jewell English were held September 1, 1995, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. Johnnie Mosley officiated.
   Mrs. English, 72, of Stonewall, died August 31, 1995, at H. C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
   Survivors include a husband, Anthony Joseph English, Stonewall; a son, Joe English, Stonewall; two brothers, Levere Robinson, Laurel; and Robert Harold Robinson, Laurel; and a sister, Wilma Creel, Richton.


David Oscar Lafferty

Services for David Oscar Lafferty were held September 1, 1995, at Shady Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Mark Thead and Rev. Clairborne Dearman officiated.
   Mr. Lafferty, 56, of Shreveport, LA, died August 29, 1995, at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport.
   Survivors include his wife, Virginia Lafferty, Shreveport; a son, David Dewayne Lafferty, Shreveport; a daughter, Tammy Lafferty, Mansfield, LA; four brothers, William Lafferty, Quitman; Joseph Lafferty, Lithonia, Georgia; Harold Lafferty and Calvin Lafferty, both of Quitman; two sisters, Joyce Irwin, Quitman; Eva Smith, Gilbertown, AL; and three grandchildren.


Naomi Anderson Harris

Services for Naomi Anderson Harris were held September 2, 1995, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Pine Grove Cemetery. Rev. Buddy Braddock officiated.
   Mrs. Harris, 87, of Meridian, died August 31, 1995, at Riley Hospital.
   Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Harris Dinic, Meridian.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edgar Harris; brother, Franklin Bivien Anderson and her parents, George Frank and Minnie Bell Anderson.
   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in Clarke County.
