Mark Allen Sims

Graveside services for Mr. Mark Allen Sims, age 56, of Pachuta, MS, were held Friday, June 26, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. in the Pachuta Cemetery in Pachuta, MS, with Reverend Keith Bogan officiating. Visitation was held Thursday, June 25, 2015, from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Pachuta Fire Department in Pachuta, MS.
    Mr. Sims passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at his residence. He was an active member of the Pachuta Fire Department, a member of the Phalti Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge Wilson #72 and the Shriners Meridian, MS Lodge.
      He is survived by his wife, Darlene Mazingo Sims of Pachuta, MS; two daughters, Racheal Nicole Sims of Pachuta, MS, and Cassidy Lashay Chapman of Gilbertown, AL; one brother, Jerry Sims of Clanton, MS; two sisters, Freda Morton of D'Iberville, MS, and Jan Collins of Conway, AR; two grandchildren, Cameron Cole Chapman and Dalton Gage Fell; and a host of nieces and nephews.
     He was preceded in death by his father, J. J. Sims and mother, Annie Laura Allen Sims.
     Serving as pallbearers were members of the Pachuta Fire Department.

George Kenneth Greenwood

George Kenneth Greenwood, 70, of Quitman, MS, passed away on June 20, 2015, at his residence.
    He was born on May 16, 1945, to John and Edna (Clinton) Greenwood in Mobile, AL.
     George is survived by his wife, Angie Greenwood; daughter, Elizabeth (Matthew) Conner; brother, Clinton Greenwood; and two grandchildren, Aurora Smith and Miguel Smith.
     Graveside services were held on Monday, June 22, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at the Stonewall Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Griffin officiating.

James C. Denham

James Colon Denham, 63, of Waynesboro, MS, passed away on June, 22, 2015, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS.
    He was born on October 25, 1951, to Samuel and Bernadine (Holloman) Denham in Meridian, MS.
    James is survived by his wife, Helen S. Denham; son, Jason Clint Denham; daughters, Angela Thomas, Andrea Sutton, and Alecia Cockrell; eight grandchildren; mother, Bernadine Denham; and sister, Judy Denham McKee.
     He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Cliffis Denham.
     Visitation was held Wednesday, June 24, 2015, 5:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, MS.
     Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 25, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Charles Waddell and Rev. Taylor Wallace officiating. Burial took place in the Enterprise Cemetery.
     Pallbearers were Ronnie Carter, Anthony Smith, Dan Lackey, Michael Mack, David Ross, Keith Wells, Robert Owen, and Jimmy Bunch.

Mary Grace Cranford

 Mary Grace Cranford, 93, of Shubuta, MS, passed away on June 24, 2015, at Wisteria Manor.
     She was born on December 27, 1921, to Gene and Mary (Taylor) Cooper in Choctaw County, AL.
     She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and volunteered with vacation bible school.
     Grace is survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
     She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Cranford.
     Visitation was held Sunday, June 28, 2015, 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Quitman, MS.
     Funeral services were held on Sunday, June 28, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Church, with Rev. Bo Bankston officiating. Burial took place in the Cooper's Chapel Cemetery (Silas, AL) at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
     Pallbearers were Keith Mosall, Jeff Volking, Tony Volking, Murray Ivey, Roger Kennedy and Dale Kennedy.

Mattie Dell Carney

Mattie Dell Carney, 95, of Stonewall, MS, passed away on June 29, 2015, at Golden Living Center.
    Mattie is survived by her daughters, Inez May, Janice Downey, and Alice McDevitt; brother, Clyde Downey; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.
    Visitation was held Tuesday, June 30, 2015, 5:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, MS.
    Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Steppe officiating. Burial will take place in the Stonewall Cemetery.
    Pallbearers will be Ronald McDevitt, Ricky McDevitt, Randy McDevitt, Donald McDevitt, Greg Anderson, and Kelly McDevitt.
