Rosie Mae Thornhill, 79, of Melvin, AL, passed away on May 20, 2015, at her residence.
She was born on June 6, 1935, to William and Minnie (Roberts) Boykin in Quitman, MS.
Rosie is survived by her nieces and nephews, Diane Baker, Mike Boykin, Phillip Boykin, Greg Boykin, Glen Boykin, Charlotte Boykin, Lisa Dukes, and Renea Peko; and several great nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lavelle Thornhill; son, Jackie Thornhill; parents, William and Minnie Lee Boykin; brothers, R.V. Boykin, J.W. Boykin, J.E. Boykin and Junior Boykin; sisters, Violet Kostick and Catherine Robinson; and nephews, Randy Boykin.
Visitation was held Friday, May 22, 2015, after 5:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 23, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at the Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Grady Crowell officiating. The body was at the church at 1:00 p.m. for visitation on Saturday. Burial took place in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Brian Dixon, Brad Boykin, Cecil Boykin, Dylan Boykin, Marcus Smith, and Scotty Pugh. Honorary Pallbearers were Lavelle Boykin and Gene Parker.
