J. E. Marshall, father of Charles Marshall, the latter under sentence to be hanged at Tupelo next Friday fo rthe murder of Robert Miller and three other members of the Miller family at Amory last January, swallowed poinson at his home near Amory today but prompt medical attention and believed to have counteracted the affect of th edrug, according to a telephone message received here.
The elder Marshall also was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment in connection with the killing of members of the Miller family, but on an appeal to the state supreme court, his case was reversed and he was ordered discharged.
