John Martin, negro, a member of the bridge gang M & O, happened to quite a serious accident on Wednesday evening while at his work. It seems that while engaged in his labors he stumbled and fell backward alighting on a sharp spike which penetrated his back, making quite a serious injury. It is thought however the negro will survive. Medical attention was immediately summoned.
   Late: The above mentioned negro died Thursday from the wounds received in the accident. His scull was fractured i nthe fall and this caused his death.


Omar Locklear and Milton Elliot

An airoplane accident which resulted in the death of Lieut. Omar Locklear, the noted "stunt" flier, and his aide, Lieut. Milton Elliot, began with a nose dive at a height of one thousand feet, it is said. They were performing feats for a motion picture concern in Los Angeles, Calif.
   When they reached two hundred fee of the earth, Locklear attempted to straighten his plane, but he was too low, and his machine crashed to the ground, and both occapants were killed instantly.
   Lieut. Locklear was well-known in Mississippi, where he did some hair-raising stunts at the Mississippi State Fair, one of which was changing from one plane to another in midair while both planes were in motion. He is said to be the only flier who ever successfully pulled off this stunt, and made an international reputation as one of the most daring and successful aviators in the world.
